Did you also check the fuses under the hood, there is a 20 amp out there that feeds that circuit.

Should only be a fuse, chances are if your tail lights dont work your dash light dont work as well, check the fuses and check your bulbs if all of your fuses are good

Check the brake light switch at the brake pedal. It may be defective or mis-adjusted.

98 town car my brake lights both turn signals work my hazards work, but my running tail lights don't work

Hello,

Inside your instrument fuse panel look for fuse #31 which powers up the light control module and the main light switch, also while there be sure and check fuses 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 to be sure they're not blown.

Good luck!

Let me know if this helps.

Ok i have a 1984 cadillac eldorado 4.1. L and well my instument panel lights dont work and when i turn on my head lights . the a/c/ and avg mpg and temp gauge cut off can somebody please help me

Sounds like the dashboard is not properly grounded. Also it can be a blinker or tail light bulb shorting out and back feeding power to the dash lights.

No brake or tail lights

Here is some information to consider and check. You should concentrate on the taillights first since that does not require you to constantly step on the brake pedal.

The bulb outage module, or lamp outage module, is located to the left of the drivers left leg while sitting in the seat. It is just slightly up under the dash, clipped into a black housing. It should be a white colored box with one large electrical plug with many wires plugging into it.

The switch above the brake light switch should be a cruise control deactivation switch, so that the cruise control turns off when the brake pedal is pressed.
