Question about 1995 Chevrolet C1500

1 Answer

Chevrolet C1500 Hi, I have a 1995 Chevrolet C1500 and the heater only blows hot. I understand this to be a problem with the blend door but I don't know where it is. I read one of your other posts but I don't know where the parts are. Could you help me out?

Is the blend door working under the dash ?
It controls the vent temp.

Why wont the heater blow out hot air in my 1995 pontiac bonneville. it will only blow cool air

If the heater hoses are getting hot, the problem may be a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.

1997 chevy silverado blows hot air only through vents

If you know for a fact the compressor is running and one of the lines is cold, I would look for a blend door problem. The blend doors direct air thru the heater and evaporator.

No heat 79 Scottsdale. Seems like cold air coming through flap on heater box but only Luke warm air from heater

Are you able to manually move the blend air door to the hot position. It may not be moving into position all the way. Confirm while sliding the lever back and forth that the cable is moving the door enough. This will take you loking at the location of the blend air cable mounting to the heater box.

New thermostat-in correct postion, coolant level topped off but no heat/defrost?

heater core plugged up? Get engine up to normal temp, put your hand on both heater hoses at firewall, if one is hot and one is not its the heater core. If both are hot the blend door under the dash is not changing to hot

1995 f350 blows cold air, heater core is hot but the air is cold

you will need to replace the air temperature control blend door actuator. go to the link for heater core instructions, they are the same for 95-97 for the blend door except u of course are not replacing the heater core, but the same access to the internal parts of the dash are required for both parts.
