Question about 2003 Dodge Stratus

Goes in reverse but dont move. in drive only goes 10mrh.

I got a 2003 dodge stratus coupe.i was haveing acceleration problems.checked transmissiom fluild was low added some. then car was going in gears fine but jerking hard. whouldnt go over 10mph. and it whould go in reverse but not go anywhere. parked car about an hour latercar ran fine for about 2 days.then i went to drive it after driving all day it whouldnt go over 10mrh and was making a wierd noise on and off.went in reverse but didnt go once again.no i cant drive it.

I think you need to bring that thing to a transmission shop. it is a bit surprising that a 5 y'old car would have a bad trans but maybe a transmission shop can save it. GL

dont know if your changing front or rear but i suggest buying the struts as an assembly. this way you get everything new. rock auto just got a new listing for these. you dont need any special tools to install them. i drive an 03 r/t myself.

2003 dodge stratus lost power while driving


Not likely a fuse. Fuses don't fix things anyway.
You should order and buy an owners manual. Their not avail from a dealer,never have been.
You can't guess at these issues, without the vehicle.
The fuel pump may have quite or something else in the circuit.
You didn't say if it started up and you are using it,with an on going intermitant problem.

Just check the transmission oil levels first, if they are low this will stop it from engaging into gear.

Cant find transmission filter on 2003 Dodge stratus Coupe.


The filter is inside the transmission. You need to take the pan off the bottom then you can replace the filter and the pan gasket.

It has a timing belt.. it is recommended it be changed every 105,000 miles

pop it out, very easily. After that four screws. then unplug the ac control.
