Why my heat works on my 2004 Chrysler Sebring but it only blows out from my front dash only and not the floor or Front dash defrost?

More than likely a bad vacuum or electric actuator, or bad vacuum line. Actuators control the mode doors to change from floor, vent, and defrost.

Ac/heat vent control

I would be looking for a loose vacuum line or a disconnected one somewhere..most a/c controls are vacuum operated that I have ever seen..

Suspect it is the blend door actuator, but please see my tip at . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info. Below are instructions for replacing the blend door actuator, but don't replace it unless you're sure it's bad. Autozone has it for $36. First, take it out, plug the connector back in and see if it turns when you change the temperature control. If not, the problem can be in the controller or the actuator. If it is clicking, the problem is stripped gears. If it isn't doing anything, you can check for voltage at the connector with a voltmeter. Connect the black meter lead to a good ground point and probe the connector terminals with the red lead while changing the temperature setting.

Blend door actuator removal and installation:

  • Remove the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).
  • Remove the left closeout panel.
  • Remove the knee bolster.
  • Remove the air temperature actuator screws.
  • Remove the air temperature actuator.
  • Remove the air temperature actuator wire harness connector.

  • Fig. Air temperature actuator removal
    To install:

    1. Install the air temperature actuator wire harness connector.
    2. Install the air temperature actuator and tighten the mounting screws to 13 inch. lbs. (1.5 Nm).
    3. Install the knee bolster
    4. Install the left closeout panel.
    5. Install the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).

Rear actuator, when heat is on in front with controls in rear on heat, rear blows cold air

The actuator on the rear controlling the climate control door was bad, the 2 top door panels had to be removed, then removed the 1 door foot step panel on the rear passenger side and the rear bottom hatch panel, then you can pull the large side panel back enough to get into the control, simply unplug the unit and remove the screws and install in reverse order, it took roughly 30 minutes, very much worth the time to DIY, We saved $ 430.00.

Remove them and gently lift the wood grain up and out of the way. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws holding the AC controls and Radio bracket. Need to replace the master power window switch.

No, I just took out the wood panel off of mine and open the black box once you get it out. You will be able to get access to all buttons and take them out and replace them if you need to.

Im trying to remove the factory radio and install a new one

First you need to gently pry off the wood grain cover around the gear shift. Then you'll see the the two screws on either side at the bottom holding the faceplate around the radio. These should be the only two screws. Before I discovered this, I had tried to pry it off starting at the top. I found it was held on by plastic clips until I got to the very bottom, and said WTF? Then I found a picture, and said Oh duh :)

1988 Mercedes Benz - 300E , want to replace window switch

Hello, To the rear of the wood grain where the switches are, you should have a small piece of carpet that you just pull up and get it out of the way. You should see 1 screw. Remove the screw and gently pull up on the back of the wood grain. Now you will be able to change the switch.
    I hope this helps.
