I have a 2001 ford f-250 super duty diesel truck and the door ajar light stays on and i have checked all the doors and the are closed. How do I fix it?
I have a 2002 Ford Super Duty w/ crw cab. The door ajar light stays on and when you open any of the four doors the horn alarm goes off for 30 to 60 seconds even after you close the door.

Somewhat the same problem, but mine will lock,unlock door locks, turn on and off dome light, flash headlights and flash the door open signal in the dash all while the truck is driving down the road. Door Ajar Warning Chime
The door ajar warning chime warns that a door is ajar. The door ajar warning chime is a single chime with a 1 second duration. The door ajar chime sounds when the driver or passenger door becomes ajar while the ignition switch is in the ON position.

You might need to oil the locks. Our truck does that some times. We just spray some WD40 on the catches and keep clicking them back and forth till it sinks it. As for the ajar light, the sensor inside of the door jam might be damaged. or the switch on the lights is turned on. I did that once.
sounds like the switch located somwhere along the door jamb is stuck in the open position. find the switches at all the doors and shoot some wd-40 into the switch. depress the switches a few times. this should help, otherwise u may need to replace the bad switch.
sounds like thats your problem,the drivers door is the one that goes bad the most,switch is located in door latch.youll have to remove door panel,and maybe latch,call a ford dealer and ask if you could buy just the switch or do you have to replace latch asm.
Try shooting some WD40 in the door latch assembly on the side of the door then open and close the doors several times. Most of the time this will un-stick the door ajar switch.
Spraying the door latch with a generous amount of WD40 the open and close the door several times will usually correct it most of the time. If not then you would have to remove the door panel and replace the dar adjar switch located on the bottom of the latch it self.
