Transmission started smoking going up hill, got us home, but 3 days later I went to move the car and the trans went out? meaning when I step on the gas it doesnt accelorate in any gear D over D or 1st....


It needs to be rebuilt or changed. Your best bet would probably get a used one at a scrapyard and replace it. Most scrapyards will provide some warranty, usually 30 days. Hope this helps.

It is either the cable that goes from the pedal to the throttle body, or the throttle plate is sticking.

I dont think you finished but it sounds like your transmission is slipping if you don't get power immediately when you press the pedal to the floor. It will need to be rebuilt or replaced soon.

Clutch pedal linkage


This shaft is removable, and the assembly, if not worn extremely bad, can be rebuilt. The assembly is called a quadrant. You can go to the local FORD dealer, and tell them to pull up a picture of the quadrant assembly, and you can pick out the parts you need to make the repair. If the shaft has worn out the quadrant bracket, then you will have to replace the assembly.
