You have a defective fuel tank switching, it is located under the truck on the drivers side.

Where would the fuel tank selector valve be located at in a 88 ford f250 be at?

the selector is located between the two tanks and has 3 or 4 fuel lines connected to it as well as wires if its an electrical switch.some had a manual switch which is usually behind the front seat on the floor that switches the tanks from one to the other when turned.

I have a 1988 Ford Truck F150. The truck has

With truck off and key on, you should be able to hear the solenoid under the truck switch from one to the other tank, if you don't hear it, check for voltage at switch, if you have voltage there, have some one work the switch while your under the truck to check voltage there at the gas tank solenoid, also tap on it, while working the switch, could be stuck, if you have voltage, but don't switch, solenoid will have to be replace.

Truck runs like ****

You have checked the fuel pressure? Do you have a check engine light? As for the tank filling up the wrong one, that is caused from a bad tank select valve on the frame rail.

No power at fuel pump or crash switch

OK, you may have a dedicated pump for each tank, if so; DOES THE OTHER TANK WORK? If so, you have a problem with the switching system or second tank pump. You may have been testing the electrical, but remember: even a pump that works does not pump gas of there is a broken rubber feeder hose inside the tank. I would consider dropping the tank taht does not work and checking the pump and filter inside. Make sure key is on and test (usually the gray wire). Good luck.

'88 f150 will not start, 0 fuel pressure

I know the ford cars had a trip relay for the fuel pump. In the event of a wreck it shuts the fuel pump down and has to be reset manually. I am unsure if the pickups had the same thing.

Fuel gauge not working

yea fords with two tanks are known for getting stuck if you dont switch the tank constantly. you have to get to the valve that switches the two tanks, and free it up. it definitley isnt anything but the valve.
