Question about 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
My engine will start, runs rough, very rich, won't rev up, then dies. Plugs are black from rich mixture. Swapped coil pack and plugs, no change. Compression is good in all cylinders (about 170). Started when I was coming home after running on highway for an hour, started to stumble on the city streets. I have a parts car so I can swap and trouble shoot many parts that way.
btw, also had issues before this with engine missing when the frant O2 sensor was hooked up. (PCM issue?)
Can be a mass air flow, idle air flow ,or even a hole in the tube between the airbox and the throttlebody........any air leak will cause this to happen.make sure you have no vaccuume lines off either
