Question about 2002 Dodge Neon

1 Answer

Water leaking I noticed a puddle of water underneath my Neon (pretty near the front right tire). After opening the engine hood I was able to find the hose that was leaking. Well, it's not a simple crack or hole in the hose, but the hose seems to be "open ended". I don't know much about cars, but i figure that the open hose is either entirely cut or it is supposed to be attached to some part of the engine/cooling system. Is there any website where I could find pictures that would tell me, where the specific hose is supposed to be/ connect to? Here are 3 links to pics to identify the hose. http://mitglied.lycos.de/hexal74/car/IMG_3849a.jpg http://mitglied.lycos.de/hexal74/car/IMG_3850a.jpg http://mitglied.lycos.de/hexal74/car/IMG_3851.jpg Thanks for your help!

Hm, I think it was the first time i used the heater. Living in South Texas doesn't require a lot of heating...
But it was quite a bit of water, therefore I doubt it was just condensate. I'll keep an eye on it and double check to see if there is another place where the water might have come from.

    Thanks!

Hi, Its the ac/heater condensate hose and its supposed to be like that. A puddle of water under your car is normal especially when the weather is hot and humid.

Why is there water leaking under the dash

If it's leaking near the glove box, it's probably the heater.
If it leaks at the foot of the driver it may be a clogged drain near the windshield wipers under the hood. Also could be a clogged drain around the sun roof.
First you can test the drains with a cup of water poured in the drain holes. You should see the water draining out under the car, usually near the tires.
They can be cleaned out with a little bit of air from a compressor.
Hope this helps.

Leaking anti freeze in the right under the hood near right front tire

it could be the water pump if the front of the engine is on that side. or heater hoses. with the engine cold, fill the system full. use straight water so you won't waste anti freeze. run the car until it gets hot. the system will pressurize. inspect the suspected area. the leak should be apparent. if the leak appears to be running from the engine block, it's most likely the pump.

You should run the engine and watch it to see if you can see where the leak is coming from, it is most likely coming from a hose or the water pump.

Coolant leaking underneath engine. Can't really tell where it's coming from.I suspect it's a water pump leak. Is this a problem on the 2006 impala with only 50,000 miles. What is the estimate to repair.

I HAVE A 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND NOTICED THIS WEEK IN THE EXTREME COLD AFTER I HAVE LET THE TRUCK WARM UP IN THE MORNINGS THERE ARE SMAL PUDDLES OF ANTIFREEZE THAT IS LEAKING IN FRONT. AFTER I DRIVE IT I HAVE NOT NOTICED THAT IT IS STILL LEAKING AND THE TEMP IS NOT GOING UP WHILE I DRIVE THE TRUCK. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG?
