Go into auto factor and ask for filters they will know what you need ,as for oil then use cheapest diesel /petrol oil you can buy 10/40 20/50 natural or synthetic it doesnt matter which but change it every 6000 m and oil filter every third oil change and you will not go wrong .Dont forget the antifreeze either -all year round leave it in as its to stop corrosion .
You need to run an engine cleaner through your engine. Drain about 1 quart out and pour in a bottle of cleaner. Let engine run for about 5 minutes and drain oil and change oil filter. You may want to consider doing this with the next 2-3 oil changes to remove all the build-up in the engine. You will tell a big difference. Also, some do this as I am one of them. During the winter months I use a thicker oil and during the summer the recommended oil weight. Just to assure you it's fine, read the owners manual and it should be in there about using a heavier weight. Good Luck
BEST TO LET DEALERSHIP CHANGE ENGINE OIL.YOU NEED A DEALERSHIP OIL FILTER.YOUR OIL FILTER INSIDE A HOUSING ON FRONT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. CHANGING YOUR OWN OIL NOT HARD.YOU NEED 9 QUARTS OF OIL LOOK INSIDE GLOVECOMPARTMENT FOR OWNERS MANUAL TO SEE WHAT TYPE OF ENGINE OIL YOU NEED TO USE AND HOW MANY QUARTS.IF YOU DONT CHECK READ MANUAL TO SEE WHAT OIL TYPE AND QUARTS YOU NEED. YOU NEED TO RAISE VECHICLE USING THE FACTORY JACK.USE JACK STANDS. LOOK IN OWNERS FOR CAR JACK LIFTING LOCATIONS TO KEEP FROM DAMAGING ROCKER PANELS. AND PLACE A DRAIN PAN UNDER THE OIL PAN. You do not list the engine size. This truck comes with 3 engines. 5.4 V8, 7.3 Diesel, and a V10. Your owner's manual will list the capacity. The add mark normally means add 1 quart on a V8. Add 1/2 quart wait 5 minutes and check the level again. The 5.4 L V8 capacity is 6 quarts of 5w20 with filter change. If it is a diesel then it requires a special oil for diesels which is 15w40 weight and it holds 14.5 quarts.
The most these trucks take is six and a half U.S. quarts of oil.The safest way to know for sure is to drain all the oil out, remove and install a new oil filter, then install five quarts of your preferred oil.Start the vehicle up and let it run for thirty seconds, then turn it off.Pull the dipstick out and check the level with the engine not running, then top off the oil as necessary.Run it for five minutes to verify that there are no oil leaks, Then Happy Motoring!!! Hope I could help!!!
You will need to drop the trans pan to drain. In turn you will need a trans filter kit which will include the filter and gasket. As far as fluid, it will require mercon dexron auto trans fluid, and will take about 6 quarts. What I normally do is fill with 5 qts and check, then add half qt at a time till full, which is normally 6 qts.
