How do i find my fuel sensor on my 94 safari van tbi motro

You don't have a carb

No fuel sensor on a TBI

There is no trying parts on any vehicle

You component test sensors & other items to see if they work
correctly & find the real issues

Parts are only installed when they fail a test

There are no brains either & computer modules seldom fail

SOURCE: no power when hit the gas

The fuel presure should be at least 60- 66 psi key on engine off, and then drop some when started, if it doesn't go any higher than 50 psi that would explain your backfire concern. If it is low then the fuel pump is weak. I have also seen soot on the little wires inside the Mass Airflow Sensor cause a concern like this.

SOURCE: have an 88 Chevy c1500 305 Eng i want to change tbi to carburetor

2bbl intake will not fit 87-95 small blocks heads are diferent from pre 86.the center bolts on your manifold are angled different than the front and back bolts.your 2bbl manifold has the same angle bolts front to back.i converted my buddies 89 to carb, had to make adapter plate for carb.but to make a long story short there is a lot of power loss and fuel economy your better of with tbi.

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

A new sensor was installed on TBI carb. to control air plus the new high volume gas pump. Did same show when driving. What else could be?

No such thing as a TBI carb. It's either fuel injected or carb, not both. What are the symptoms and What's the year, make, model and engine?

94 tbi starts but dies unless u pump the gas it runs rough

This could be a whole range of problems from lack of fire to engine to a bad fuel pump or pressure regulator in the TBI but if all of that is good then check the Cat. converter to make sure it is not plugged or the muffler. As I have 1994 Chev Silverado myself I know you can pull the 02 sensor out ahead of the cat. and it should run better not well but better. It will relieve the back pressure to the engine.

GMC safari won't start, new coil, ICM, plugs (delco) Wires, cap, rotor, get's gas, new starter.

This just happened to my Dad's 1998 GMC Safari...

Firstly...

Check the hard vacuum line as previously noted by others.
If that's ok, then take off the intake pipe and spray brake clean into the throttle body while trying to crank it.

If it starts.. then you have a fuel related issue, if it doesn't start then you have an electrical related issue.

Our van did not start after trying to use brake clean.

Take off the console inside the vehicle's cab and get at the distributor.

Usually people noted that the ICM (ignition control module, inside the distributor) was the main issue here, but on our van, the distributor and wires looked brand new so it was probably recently changed (we got this van 5 months ago), so I assumed the spark plugs were also changed at the same time.

We unplugged the connection from the coil to the distributor, tried to crank it, and no spark was being generated, boom, got a new coil and starts up fine.

Just takes a bit of trial and error.

I bought a '94 chevy p.u. project truck

Have you checked the temp sender? If the computer does not know the engine is cold it won't put enough fuel into the mixture to get it started.
If after starting it by priming, if you can get it to run, I'd look there.
Also on most systems the crank sensor will play a part in there as well...If the computer does not see a signal from there it will often shut down the fuel pulses to the injectors.
If simple testing does not show you anything, have a code test done and see at least which systems are showing faults and work from there. Chiltons and Haynes list individual component tests you can do to isolate a single component.

I have a 1994 gmc safari. It seems to have a smooth idle at times

Im not sure if you got it fixed yet! It could possibly be idle air control valve. But here some more suggestions! I had a 94 Safari van 4.3 liter I was working on for about three days and I finally figured out what was wrong with it. It would run fine for a couple minutes and as soon as I hit the gas and let off it would surge, but anyways I ended up changing the distributer, after the fuel pump and filter, mass air flow sensor, egr valve, idle air control valve, map sensor, and ignition module. So that might sove the problem if you were on the same track with it as I was. Hope this helps ya!
