1999 Dodge Caravan Does not go in reverse

My Caravan does not go into reverse. In reverse or in neutral, it's as if in drive. Is it the sol. valves or the control module? I hope its not some gear problem inside...

The shift soleniod is the most logical answer or the shifter cable has to be adjsuted.
I do not think the gears are an issiue. Is you fliud clean ? Does the fuild smell burnt or dark in color.
Is there metal shaving in the fluid. ?
If any of the above condition exist then you should take the vehicle in for service .

Stalls in reverse and drive

Could be the idle speed control valve or a dirty throttle body.
The computer controls idle speed by the amount of air allowed into the intake thru the control valve.

2004 dodge grand caravan, will not roll over at all, shift indicator light says it is in reverse, will not register park or neutral.

The mode switch(neutral safety) in the transmission is bad,This will require valve body removal and draining of the transmission. Will walk you through it if you want to try.

1999 dodge caravan where is the reverse light switch Lights on on in reverse but sometimes stay on when selector moves to drive.

There used to be a switch on automatics called the neutral lock out switch. This served the function of keeping you from trying to start the car while already in gear and also turned on the backup lights. It was connected mechanically to the gear selector. The contacts would wear with age, causing starter and back up light problems . Suppose they have something similar these days. drop by a dealer and ask the parts desk guy. He will know what it is and where it is.

Reverse lights stay on

The neutral start/back-up light switch is at fault. the swich is located on the lower front edge of transaxle. To replace the switch put a drain pan under the transaxle and remove the switch. Some fluid will come out of the transaxle during removal. Install in the reverse of removal. Refill transaxle to proper level before driving. Hope this will help you.

Reverse lights are on when ever the car is on

it is usually the neutral safety switch which controls the reverse kight however some vehicles had a seperate back up light switch which could be causing the light to stay on.
