Question about 2000 Hyundai Sonata
Need to know how to line up timing marks for a 2000 hyundai sonata 2.4 l, need a picture , I am more of a see to do type person
The timing marks are on the vlave cover they are arrows and the cams have notches in them. you will need a cam holder cause they will twist. oil balance shaft must be set correctly or engine will vibrate and be noisey.

Never done one so i dont know where they are, didnt you paint the gears before stripping??never mind just do this ,remove rocker cover first ,then no1 spark plug.use a long thin screwdriver to watch piston move to TDC then back off a bit and turn cams ,look for slots or a grove on back or front of the cam or two recesses in the camshaft retaining caps jus in case the timing marks are on the cams, then with the valves closed on no1 and the cams have the largest gaps between valves and cam lobe ,bring pisto up to TDC fiot belt and turn engine on a socket and rachet on the bottom pulley twice to ensure the vaves clear the pistons before you try to start
