Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
My 2000 VW Jetta GLS w/2.0 L engine battery keeps dieing due to a constant high draw on the battery when the car is shut off. When the battery cable is removed there is a considerable arc of electricity. There is a secondary cable which connects from the positive battery terminal to an elecrtric bus located on top of the battery cover (this bus has several wires which come off of it). I am able to narrow the high draw item on the car to the heavy gage red wire which comes off of the bus. What does this wire power? When I disconnect only this wire from the bus, the car will not turn over and the dash board LCDs go blank. Someone said the problem may be the voltage regulator. Any suggestions? Thank you.
