yes i checked the car a million times to make sure everything is plugged, tighten etc. the car is getting spark. it does have a crank angle sensor. me and my father aren't sure if the car is getting good compression. theres not a lot of air sucking into the car from the intake manifold, im afraid the pistons are shot and its going to need a new motor all together. any ideas??

Hello, looking at the response from my colleagues I feel possibly they and you are looking in the wrong area.
You say it won't completely crank over? I hope you mean turn over manually by rotating the crankshaft pulley with a knuckle bar and not trying to turn over on the key?
Whenever I do a cambelt or head/gasket change to make certain I've got the cam timing correct I rotate the engine through 360 degrees to make sure! if it isn't correct the pistons will hit the valves and not Crank over completely as you put it.
So I would see if the timing mark on the Crank pulley, cam and if diesel pump align correctly.
Good luck! I hope this sorts your problem? if so please remember press that Blue Fixya button to appraise my FREE effort's.

Turn your steering column while turning on the car this should help. I had a problem with mine once and it did this (wouldn't start) but once the battery was replaced problem went away. You could also have a defected battery which also happened to my 2001 Eclipse RS last year.

2001 mitsubishi eclipse won't start.

I had the same problem with my 2001 Eclipse last week. Headlights, Radio and such all worked but the car would not crank up. Sounds like your "starter" needs to be replaced. The "Starter will have the solnoid attched to it also" Remove he "Starter and take it tested at an Advance Auto store for free.

To remove the starter you will have to raise the car up, and remove the small metal heat shield.

1990 mitsubishi eclipse gs 2.o turbo. the car crank no start

Sounds like a failed or disconnected ignition coil wire.
Hook up an OBD reader and crank the thing for awhile watch the reader for the code. Look up the code number . You may need a book for your car to do this. The reader will tell you what's amiss.

2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse starts sometimes then wont and just makes a clicking sound, is my starter going out?

could be, unless your battery is dying. a nearly dead battery will make clicking noises while it is cranking. if you keep forcing it by turning the key from "run" to "crank" and it gets it to start it may be a dead spot on the starter.

Car overheated now wont star

Need more details, But something that would help me is if you would do a compression test. This may give me info of a possible blown headgasket. If this is the case it could be the reason for the broken hose along with the blown headgasket.

2001 Mitsubishi eclipse wont start

you don't hit the alternator, you hit the starter to help is shake free because it is already going bad. take battery and alternator to parts store and have both tested. check the wires at the starter and make sure they are on SECURELY. very important SOLID CONTACT is occurring. do your lights turn on? check starter relay if the eclipse is equipped with one.
