How do you adjust head light buckets on a 1987 trans am

First you have to unplug the headlight motor, then you should see a turn knob up top next to your headlights. You might have to push the lights up or down as youre turning the knob but that should work. Thats how my 1983 is.

I just looked at a wiring diagram for the year and make of your car and it shows a circuit breaker for the right and left side headlamp motors. This is probably be located inside you fuse panel. It will say HDLP #1 & #2. Ihop that this helps, if you need the wiring diagram I can email it to you.

What is the bracket behind the headlight on a 1987 pontiac firebird called

how about the headlight mounting bracket. stop by a Pontiac, or GM dealer, and ask about an illustrated parts breakdown on your car. if Pontiac has joined Olds and Saturn in the dustbin of history then i would google around a bit and find which local GM dealer has taken up the service on existing Pontiacs. if anyone does that service, they would be able to show you.

anyhow parts guys are very nice about showing you the illustrated parts breakdown and they could get you a price on one if they are still available............unlikely. but once you know what it is called you can drop by some local junkyards, or search via google, and find an 1987 out there which the part can be stripped from. the real problem you have is the age of the car, there are few yards with anything older than a 1990 in them, 20 years later there is just no real demand justifying a spot in the yard.

look on craigslist and ebaymotors, you may find someone who spends his idle hours pulling parts and selling them.

Headlight fuse 1998 firebird

The fuse box you are looking for is under the hood. You will find a black square box and it should say FUSE on top. Take the lid off and the cover should have the location of the headlamp fuse. If it is not the fuse/breaker it could be a bad dimmer switch in the column.

When I turn off the car and lock it either manually or with the remote, the headlights "growl" and flip up and down twice. After that everything is fine. I have a 2000 Pontiac Firebired.

I have had this problem in the past. The issue here is that the headlight gear is likely worn down. Gm manufactored these headlight gears in plastic and sadly they break really easy over time. Same problem with corvettes. Anyway, there is a website that offers a free solution or to order the more duable brass gears. I ordered the brass gears for my 1997 Firebird and that solved the issue. Heres the site http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/index.htm
