I have to replace the front left turn signal lens on a 1998 jeep grand cherokee. How do i remove the existing broken lens?

    I need to replace the front left turn signal lens on a 1998 jeep grand cherokee and cannot find a way to remove the existing one.

Turn singles not working on my jeep grand cherokee 1998 fuses keep blowing


Possible that the turn signal unit is short and should be replaced.
To confirm you must remove the main lead to the unit and check the short on the left and right circuits by shorting a +B to the circuits so that all the lamps lights up on either side.
If there is a short then it will be seen. Is so replace the unit.

I need to replace the signal light bulb on the front drivers side of my 1998 jeep grand cherokee limited. I don't see how to get access to it.


open hood REMOVE SCREWS ON TOP HOLDING LIGHT ASSEMBLY IN THEN PULL WHOLE ASSEMBLT STRAIGHT OUT YOU MAY NEED TO TUG A LITTLE BUT IT WILL COME OUT

The easier way is to remove the corner lens and then access from the back of the housing.

Front Turn Signal & Parking Lights

Remove the 2 parking light housing retaining screws ...

... then pull the housing away from the vehicle far enough to remove the bulb socket from behind the housing. Turn the socket counterclockwise and pull

Push the bulb in the socket gently and turn clockwise, then pull the bulb out of the socket. Note the offset retaining ears on each side of the bulb

  1. Remove the screws from the lens and separate the lens from the headlight bezel.
  2. Remove the headlight bezel.
  3. Remove the screws from the turn signal housing and pull it out.
  4. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise 1/3 turn and remove it.
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

How to access front turn signal for replacement


Here you go, removal & installation of:

Front Parking/Turn Signal Lights:
  • Remove the screws from the the lens and separate the lens from the bezel
  • Remove the screws from the turn signal housing and pull it out
  • Turn the bulb socket CCW 1/3 turn and remove it
  • Installation is the reverse of this procedure
Side (Front) Marker Lights:
  • Remove the screws from the marker lens
  • Separate the lens from the headlight
  • Pull the bulb from the back of the lens
  • Installation is the reverse of this procedure
