I replaced the sensor at the transmission and still won't work.

Remove the - (Negative) battery lead and wait for a few seconds. the refit BUT DONT LET the terminal arc keep it firmly pressed on while tightening. It seem as if this may have happened when you fitted the new battery as any rapid on off power to the management system will scramble it. You also dont say if you have driven it far as some times after a battery change depending on management system fitted around 20 miles before system workks out settings lost when power removed (happens after a sensor change aswell) hope this helps.

the only thing that is related is the d4/rough gear changing
speed/ rpm malfunction is caused by your speed sensor on the trani (common problem) change it

If one speed sensor goes out, it will make your speedo stop working. I believe the sensors are about 200 a piece. You'll have to take it to the dealership to find out which one is malfunctioning as there are 5 of them total (I'm pretty sure). They only charged me 30 to put it in as it is really easy and that way it is warrantied by them.
One other problem I had was with the electric brake controller on my truck went haywire and when I disconnected it, my speedo came back to life.
Hope this helps!

It sounds like the cluster is gone bad if everything is not working. Usually, if just the speedometer isn't working then it's the speed sensor on the transmission that has gone bad. But I think you have a cluster that has just died. Check on EBAY for a used cluster and ask them to roll the mileage to what is on your vehicle now.
