Hello,
sounds like the (VSS)vehicle speed sensor is bad causing the speedo not to work and the transmission is not shifting properly because the computer can not tell how fast the car is going, have your local mechanic fix it asap so toy do not do any engine or transmission problems.as far as the heater stopping,I dont thing they are related.I will get back to you on the blower have a good day DB

sounds like you have a faulty VSS (vehicle speed sensor)its a very important input sensor for the computer,it lets the comp. know vehicle speed so it can shift the gears properly,so whats possibly happening is the vehicle is not shifting properly, the heater problem is a seperate problem,so have your mechanic scan the comp. to confirm and more than likely thats the issue. have a good day DB

I am no Honda expert, but a similar problem happened to my ex sister in-laws Ford Taurus. The speed odometer would jump around and it had trouble shifting (automatic transmission). After driving it I changed out the speed odometer sensor on the transmission and it's been fine ever since. I changed out the sensor because if the cars computer cannot tell how fast the car is traveling then fail safes in place go into effect and the computer will do it's best to keep the cars rpm's down based on the speed indicator and not let it shift or shift properly either. If it's getting false speeds then it will shut down the motor when the speed gets to high and allow it to run as the speeds fall (jumping speed odometer needle). It effects the transmission shift points also. It will either shift erratically or not shift out of say 2nd gear, so that the cars engine can't get damaged based on what signal the speed sensor is sending the computer.

My 98 z71 won't shift when the indicter light goes

Your car reads off of the trans. Sensors to shift. You are going to need an input and output sensor, that will fix your speedometer also.

Speedometer odometer rpm guage quit

this is going to be one of two things, the first thing i would check is the speed sensor but if the sensor was bad you would have a check engine light on and ****** would not shift normal, if you have a engine light on and shifting problems then replace the speed sensor on the ****** also to double check you can go to any auto parts store and they will scan the computer for codes for check engine light and if theres a speed sensor code then replace the sensor and that will solve the problem but if theres no eng light and van shifts the same then i will say you need to replace the cluster (speedometer). this is replace complete with all the gauges.i have done alot of these, we just get used ones, the mileage wont be the same but so what its alot cheaper than a new one. good day hope this is helpful.

The odometer isnt working, everything else does just not the odometer. also the check engine light comes on ater 109 min of driving.

you have a defective speed sensor or speed module behind cluster. I doubt the gauge it self is bad but could be. you need to pull the code. go to autozone they will do it for free.

F-350 speed/odometer not working and shifting hard

there is a speed sensor on the top of the rear differential. either the sensor is bad or it has become unplugged. when the truck doesnt know how fast it is going, the trans goes into "limp mode" to protect itself...whic causes it to shift hard and if u look you'll notice the o/d light is blinking

Speed sensor and overdrive

OVERDRIVE ENGAGEMENT IS TIED TO THE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL, THE SYSTEM WILL NOT GO INTO OD UNTIL THE CAR REACHES A CERTAIN SPEED, IN MOST CASES AROUND 35-40 MPH, THE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL TELLS THE ECU WHEN THE CORRECT SPEED HAS BEEN REACHED.
