Can you tell me how to disable the beep? It goes off when driving, when parked, kills battery etc. I cannot afford to get latch fixed right now and need to simply kill the sound. Is there a fuse I can pull or a wire I can disconnect until I can get the repair?

If it is cold were you are at .sometimes the sensor in the door latches gets sticky .the most likely fix would be to replace the drivers side door latch.because this is the most used door.a good shop can tell you for sure which latch it is for sure.thanks for your question i hope this helps.if the beeping goes on after the car is shut off and door is closed get latch fixed soon because this will draw down your battery!

Troubleshooting Gen 2 Remote Start Systems (Ford Factory Installed Remote Start)
• 2 beeps - hood open, or brake pressed
• 3 beeps - door open (Gen 2 systems monitor the door ajar
wire)
• 4 beeps - Tach not programmed (if running tachless, make
sure the tachless feature is enabled)
• 5 beeps - Key In Sense (thinks key is in the ignition
• 6 beeps - Service mode (the LED will give you a blink,
blink, pause pattern.)

You can bring it to a dealer to reprogram.

Beep beep drivin me crazy

nobody can guess which switch or wire is failing.
Donna. we use the FSM, the factory service manual
we open to the page , security,
then we check each sensor for flaky ops.
either get it fixed or defeat it.
there are only 2 choices, with no fsm.
no alarm get better with age , they all this this bull.
corrosion, always wins. entropy is the cause.

you might inspect all switches (ajar switches ) here
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service
see WJ
see page wiring security , for free.

i key on, and use a voltmeter at each switch
and make sure it goes to 0v each time activated
if not , its bad.

I want to disarm the beep when door is open or the key is still in the switch.

most of the beep's are fitted to the light control box. dont know if it is the same on yours.

When I open the driver's door and take out the key from ignition, there is a constant beep different from the one I know and the dash board always flashing. What could be the solution.

The beeping sound is a warning sound that lets the driver know that a door is open and he shouldn't drive off. It is normal and nothing to worry about. Good Luck. george

Car Alarm beep Problem

Sometimes tow beeps when locking means that one of the door is not properly closed or is ajar. If that is not the case, get it reprogrammed.

My wife's minivan had the same exact same problem....especially on a bumpy gravel road....on off on off on off...AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! (this was both the beeps and the lights....as I said AHAHHHHH!)

I resolved it by figuring out which door was causing the issue....very irritating the flashing interior lights, etc.......the issue is likely that the rubber gasket is worth enough to not push the sensor in completely....
  • locate the sensor on each door....little 1" shaft like area in the door pillar area...pressed in when the door is closed
  • with the engine running, open each door (one at a time) to manually press this switch in ( to identify which door is causing this irritating issue)
  • once the troubled door is located...look to see where it would make contact on the door itself
  • look for a rubber nickel sized plug on the door
  • it is likely worn slightly, or pressed out of shape
  • to resolve my wife's issue, I turned this plug a 1/4 turn or so...to the 'unworn' area
  • this worked really well...although it took a few 1/4 turns to figure out the best fix
  • ultimately it was an irritating fix....but the problem is/was much worse than pulling over every now and a again to 'fix' it...esp. at night (think flashing interior light, beeping..esp. when the kids had just fallen asleep!!!!)
  • P.S....it was a little fiddle process, but once you do it once then, you can fiddle some more
  • long-term, perhaps get another 'plug', but my solution worked really well

Car Alarm/Door lock

This happened to me too...It turned out to be that my door was out of adjustment, which caused the door position sensor to not know whether the door is closed or open. Sometimes my light on the inside of the door would flash (because the car thought that the door was open). Once the alarm did activate, the car would sometimes think that the door had opened, thus causing the alarm to activate. It was cheap to have fixed...I think it was less than $100 at the dealership.
