What is better to rebuild an engine or buy a used and how much cost to do this any aprox. In price

You are better off rebuilding the engine if you intend to keep the car, the engine may last far longer if it is looked after and there are no unforeseen incidents. If you are selling a car then fitting a used engine can be cost effective, if you shop around wisely you can find a good engine for a reasonable price. Some buy salvage/donor cars to sort their own vehicle out from insurance auctions/salvage sales.
Rebuilding is usually more expensive but I would far rather have a rebuilt engine than a used one.
The thing with used units is that you cannot usually tell how well they have been maintained.
The choice is yours

How do i know what alternator I need for my 1992 camaro?

I do not know specifically the alternator but all you have to do is call a parts shop and tell them the year, make and model. They will let you know what you need. You can also go to an online store like NAPA or Carquest and input the same information to get the part number and pricing.

What engine of other cars could fit in Chevy caprice 82-85,

almost every rear drive drive full size used the 305 V8, so u can get an engine from a Buick La sabre, Pontiac bonneville and firebird, also Oldsmobile 88, and don't forget Camaro. any 305 chevy V8 will bolt in, also the 350 V8 will bolt in, this is a much better choice..

I need a good mechanic to rebuild my engine or install a new one

Are you sure that your timing is set right. This will make it sound like this, also if the valves are not adjusted right will make alot of noise. The person who rebuilt the motor should stand behind his/her work!!!???

Anyone know where I can Buy this Item for a 1999 Chevy Mailbu ?

Hey RJ,

I worked at an auto salvage yard for quite a while. Doors were among the many items we pulled and cataloged. There were literally hundreds of them in inventory. They are inexpensive compared to almost any other option. And unlike drive train and electrical components that may have hidden problems, what can go wrong with a set of doors? Low price with low risk.

Although they may not be on line, most yards in an area have their inventory computerized and have access to each others records

So if you have a salvage yard near you, check them out. They can tell you if they have a set there on site. The prices will beat anything else you can order. They will usually ship overnight (same day if you get there early enough) from local affiliates. Odds are good they can even find the color you want.

Hope this helps you out,

Ford f150 5 liter v8

You need to check your oil pump. This is a mechanical issue and would not show up on the computer.
