A/C Switch Assembly
The A/C switch assembly integrates the A/C request button, RECIRC request button and rear DEFOG button into a single assembly.
The A/C request button is enabled by the blower motor switch. The A/C switch assembly sends a reference signal to the blower motor switch. When the reference signal is grounded (blower motor switch turned ON) the A/C request button is enabled. The A/C request button is disabled when the blower motor switch is in the OFF position. When the A/C request button is activated (indicator ON), an A/C request signal is sent to the PCM. The A/C request button indicator can be toggled on and off when in the FLOOR/DEFROST or DEFROST mode, but an A/C request signal will be sent to the PCM regardless of the indicator status.
When the RECIRC request button is activated (indicator ON), the air inlet mode door actuator will drive to the recirculated air inlet position. When the RECIRC request button is deactivated (indicator OFF), the air inlet mode door actuator will drive to the fresh air inlet position. The RECIRC request button is disabled when in the FLOOR/DEFROST or DEFROST mode.
You need to program your crimestopper sp-501 key fobs, you need to program both the 2-way and the 1-way key fobs, during the same key fob program session. First find your valet button/switch, when you have found it, turn your ignition on and press the valet button four times, if you have a toggle type switch for a valet switch, toggle it up and down four times, when its in remote key fob program mode, it will honk your horn 4-times followed by 4-parking light flashes. Once your have done this press the lock button on the 2-way key fob, horn will honk and the 2-way will sing a little song to confirm programed, then press the lock button on the 1-way key fob the horn honk will be your confirm programed. turn ignition off this will exit you from program mode. then shut all doors and test key fobs for operation functions....hope this helps you out
> With the control set 1 2 3 4 it does blow any air, ? does NOT? A common problem with this control is the failure of a stepped resistor which causes only the highest speed to still function since this bypasses the resistor. Tracing the leads from the fan speed switch may help locate it.
Two possible areas I would check using an ohm meter.First is the blower resistor which is usually located by the blower motor and looks like a cement rectangle or a ceramic tube with wires attached to it. The resistor should have very low resistance but should not read open from the common lead to the other terminals. If it tests good test the continuity of the fan switch. Some cars have a fuse for the high and low blower speeds so you can check your fuse diagram and look for two blower or fan fuses. Good Luck.
