Well undoing the battery just clears the pcm.as soon as the problem is detected the light comes on again, and will untill you scan the computer so you can get a code and find out where the problem is,so check your gas cap(pretty common fault)make sure it is tight.if it was okay have your mechanic scan it for you and the mystery will be over. have a good day DB

1999 plymount grand voyager service engine soon

Stop by one of the big autoparts stores and they will scan for codes free of charge, then you /we can better pinpoint problem. Write down the code(s) and if the fix isn't obvious from code(s), get back to us with code(s),and we will further assist you from there. Faster and cheaper to get code(s) first.

My plymouth voyager will not come out of first gear, my service engine soon light is on. Could it be my soleniod?

the best thing to do is to get the code from the service engine light, you can get them from your auto parts store by putting an obd machine on your van.

Van won't start

sounds like you need a new alternator.the battery light is triggered by the diode trio in the alternator. if the light comes on.99 times out of a 100 you need to have your alternator replaced.have your charging system checked first. most parts stores check them for free.with the engine running it should be around 14.5 volts.
