Replace the Plugs, Plug Wires, Air Filter, PCV Valve, Change the oil and Filter, Grease the Fittings on the Front end and if there are any in other Locations. That is the Basic Tune up Procedure. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

You should be Fine just doing the Maint. as listed above. You Might want to get a Tranny Flush and Fill and Rear end Gear Oil Change on top of these with that Many Miles.

I have a 1998 Dodge Durango that will not start i have a fresh tune up and oil change and my lights will not come on unless i hold my bright lights switch. it pulled a little while driving before it went...

Check connections at the power distribution block under the hood. Also look for fusible links on alternator- give those a gentle tug to see if they pull apart. If headlights do not come on and no evidence of damaged or faulty wiring or fusible links, replace the headlight circuit breaker in the power distribution panel.

Could you direct me to a website that gives instructions on how to tune up a 05 GMC envoy

the only procedures that would classify as a tune up on an '05 vehicle would include changing the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and PCV valve.ignition is 'solid state' and timing is computer controlled.

After getting a tune up, now no air coming through the dash vents

It's coinsidental. You have a bad motor on the heater box, very common. You can't replace it yourself either. The motor has to be programmed in the body computer. Physically you can replace it but you need to get it calibrated & programmed.

With my personal experience that I have in all the vehicles with similar problems the solution is the same. Transmission tune-up believe me, the fluid is low or the filter is clogged and the fluid has lost its lubricity that's all. Do not get convinced you need a new transmission or some other sensor. Its more economic to give it a tune-up before assuming anything else is wrong with the vehicle. Check my advice on a trans tune-up. If you already replaced sensors and messed with whatever else once you do the tune-up it might not be as new. Because things that affect the transmission were tampered with. But after the tune-up you will be able to drive it with no worries. First off all check the trans fluid level, if low find the leak, repair it if any then do the tune-up. If the fluid is low and you find red oil underneath the radiator, engine or transmission let me know.
