I am going to have to relpace the hole thing to drepair it. I am trying to find the parts online and not having much luck so far.

That's really hard to have both the outside and inside of the lock broken on your door. My lock has also been acting strangely on my back door. It only locks from the inside. I think that the easiest solution for the both of us would probably just be to find someone to repair the lock since they will have the parts needed.http://www.actionlockandsafe.com/faqs.ht...

Is there a way to use a key to open the rear hatch door, car battery dead 2009 equinox

Yes, you should be able to use the key to unlock the rear hatch of your 2009 Equinox even if the car battery is dead. The lock cylinder for the rear hatch is likely located on the outside of the hatch itself, or it may be located on the door handle. To unlock the hatch with the key, insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it clockwise. If the key won't turn or the hatch won't open, you may need to wiggle the key or apply more pressure to unlock the hatch. If the key won't go into the lock cylinder at all, it is possible that the lock is frozen or damaged and will need to be repaired or replaced. You may also be able to use the manual release for the rear hatch, which is usually located inside the vehicle, near the driver's side door or on the underside of the dashboard.

The door handle from the outside is broken and the child lock is on. so the door cannot open. how do we unlock the child lock with a closed door

You have very few options with this one. Child lock switches are designed to be hard to get to so they can't be turned off by accident.
Your best option is to take the vehicle to a good mechanic or a good bodywork specialist and have them do it.
What do you mean by the door handle is 'Broken'? Is it loose and one one piece or is it physically broken off?
To fix this yourself your going to have to 'break' something to get to the problem. If the outside handle is broken off, you could try using a piece of wire to hook the release mechanism through the hole left by the handle. If it isn't, you could also try removing the door card inside the vehicle to access the release from inside the door. That's where you might need to damage the panel to get it off!

What part do I need? It opens from the inside. The handle is not snapped.

Are you saying the inside door handle isnt snapped, but the door wont open by pulling on the inside door handle or is it the outside door handle thats not working??Both the inside and outside door handle has a spring and other components on the backside of the handle which cant really be seen unless you remove the whole door handle assembly. One of these components are most likely broken or the rod that attaches between each handle and the locking mechanism(part that locks into the door striker to keep the door closed and releases it too)might have come loose from the back of the handle. The outside handle is usually mounted to the door by pop rivets or bolts/nuts.The inside handle is usually mounted with screws, but it really depends on what kind of car youre driving.Youll probably have to remove the handle to inspect it for damage.Open the door and watch the locking mechanism for movement while youre pulling on the door handle. If it doesnt move when you pull on the handle, the handle is definitely broke or the rod has come loose from the back of the handle.

HOW DO I OPEN DOOR?HANDLE FOR REAR HATCH OF 2002 CHEV TRACKER HARDTOP IS BROKEN, HOW DO I GET INSIDE TO FIX WHEN I CAN'T OPEN DOOR?

I have had the same issue with mine. Using the key unlock the door from the outside while at the same time lifting the handle underneath. You may have to bang on the cover of the lock to get it to unlatch as well. Once opened you will find the back cover comes off fairly easily however getting to the lock set can be a challenge. Look at the rod assembly and make sure it is not bent. Mine was bent and out of alignment. I had to get another because it was too weak.

The Rear hatch door handle does not unlock

had this problem myself.... you gotta go in through the back and take the plastic/vinal cover off the rear door and look for the lock from the inside..... unlock it .... open the door and then you can repair and lube the mechanism while standing outside like a human being. its not very hard to do.. just take your time and don't force anything.

The front passenger door will not open with the outside door handle or the interior door handle. after taking the inside door cover off, i discovered the interior door handle is broken and the connector...

The locking mechanism is manufactured with carbon composite and plastic levers that the door handles attach to. It is hard to tell what parts that you do need. Remove the passenger side door panel. It will have some screws and maybe a bolt on the inside handle. The panel has snap plug on it and they fit into designated hole in the door. After getting the door panel off, be careful here, there are sharp metal edges that can cut. There are some peep hole to see the rods and connector inside the door. If the plastic hooks on the door locking mechanism are broken. The hole door lock assembly will need to be replaced.

Try your local wrecking yards and tell them what type of vehicle you have and year. Also, state what door it is and what you will need.

Now, if the interior door hand hook on the lock mechanism isn't broke off. The get a cloths hanger and straighten it out and attach it to the opening latch on locking mechanism. This will give you inside temporary handle, while you are trying to fix the door. Safety. GB...stewbison

My rear door on the passenger side is stuck so I can't open it from the outside. but today when I had the door open to ***** the problem my little brother flipped the button and turned on the child lock....

It sounds like the plastic connecting bit that links the outside door lever to the rod, that operates the door mechanism, has broken or become disconnected. To check, you will need to remove the trim on the inside of the door, after removing any screws and the inside door lever. However now that the child safety lock has been set it could be very difficult to get the door open.
All I can suggest is that you look at the other rear door to locate the position of the safety tab and then try to disengage it by using a suitable thin blade or something on your bad door so that you can again use the inside lever.
Once you have the inside trim off and the plastic sheet, you will see an access hole for the door mechanism and the outside operating handle of the door. It should be attached to the actuating rod by the aforementioned plastic bit. If plastic bit appears OK try re-attaching it or replacing it if broken. If the part of the handle which attaches to the rod is broken, the handle will need replacing.

Broken (or stuck?) driver's side door mechanism

Just go to a junk yard and pull them off a junker and put them on yours. Simple fix with a screwdriver. Most Toyota stuff has already been shipped out to Japan so you may have to go to a dealership for them. I can understand what your saying friend about cash limitations, if someone told me to pay attention I'd have to take out a loan. You'll work it out somehow. You may have to just hook a wire to the handle mounts to pull them unlatched. As for the one not unlocking, pull the inside panel off and unhook the lock and unlock it. Luck toya Bro.
