Question about 1993 GMC Suburban
The heater in the front will blow hot air only when your on the gas, the rest of the time it's cold. The rear heater works fine.
It is either 1 of three things. You may be low on antifreeze in your radiator, or your water pump is beginning or has failed. Turn your engine off and let it cool down. Take off the radiator cap and look down in the radiator and see if you can see fluid. If fluid is not near the top, you need to add antifreeze. If it is full you probably have a bad thermostat or a bad water pump. Both of these are easy to fix by someone good with tools.
