Question about Hyundai Excel

1 Answer

While driving for around 60km with air con on in a 40 degree day the blinkers stopped working, then the radio, the power windows, antenna and so on. When I turned A/c off radio came back on for a short while. I got home just car was idleling rough. Then just cut out. Wouldn't start again like battery was dead. Wondering if the bttery or alternator could be problem.

Sounds like you have a dead short in your system. Best to take it to the dealer and let them throw a breakout box on it. Problem being is that when it's working fine they won't be able to find the problem. It could get to be very costly for you if they can't find it right away.

I will be driving down the road & periodically my radio stops working

This is one of two things, iit may be a loose connection or bad radio, take radio out and turn it on, wiggle on move wiring around if it goes out then its a bad connection but if it does not then radio is bad, the radio can be repaired but may be cheaper to replace with a used one or aftermarket radio.

After driving for about 4-6 hours the temp rises

You should have your a/c system ck'd. Reason could be excessive system pressure and temp. This would explain the a/c safety turning off the a/c and the temp rise of the engine cooling system. Good Luck.

Check calibration. Muffler supports from the front till the back, there should be proper clearance. Is your diesel fuel of proper cetane rating for the engine? Check your belt drive system, is there any part that is excessively draining engine power, power steering pump, air con compressor, alternator or generator? Do these preliminary steps and isolate.
