Need to know how to remvoe radio to install satellite radio plug

The plug I have for my satellite radio is supposed to plug into the back of the head unit where the antenna plugs in. How do I remove the radio? Do I have to take the enitre dash out or is it easier than that?

On most vehicles there are four little holes in each corner of the radio. there is a very cheap special tool that u need to insert into the holes. You can pick this tool up at any automotive store. its very easy.

Everything is connected and installed properly it even always finds satellites but it just stays at calibrating I haven't entirely figured out how to calibrate it and make it show where I actually am.

You are supposed to have the little antenna /reader outside the car in the center of the windshield, and I would recheck if you have it plugged in properly. If not call JVC or the store you bought the head unit from and ask them.

The trim is held in by sprung clips. Pry gently at the edge/corner with a small screwdriver until you can get your fingers behind it. Pull straight out. Here are instructions from autozone.com:

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Radio Control Assembly

  1. Disconenct the negative battery cable.
  2. Remvoe the shift lever knob.
  3. Remove the console trim plate.
  4. Remvoe the center air duct.
  5. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate.
  6. Unfasten the upper right corner console right hand trim pad-to-carrier screw.
  1. Unfasten the bolts/screws securing the radio control assembly. Pull the radio partially for access to the electrical connectors, then unplug the connectors and remove the radio control assembly from the vehicle.

Some one took the radio out of my car and now the head lights dont work y is that do i need the radio for the head lights to work it has the buddy light en u pull them on but they only stay on for a sec...

There is a radio wire that also goes to the headlights. I think a wire from the radio burned out the fuse that both of them use. You need to wrap all the bare wires from where the radio was and then check the fuses--including the ones in the engine compartment. Let me know if this doesn't fix it. You do not need the radio for the lights to work...

I want to install an antenae hook-up wit sirius satelite radio

Hi, this one is easy as pie. tools you need, philips screwdriver and a small socket set. . sitting in drivers seat look down and to your left of the column, you will see a philips head, remove it, leave door open, now on the right hand side of column about the same location is another philips head, remove it. open ash tray and check for philips heads there, insert ignition key and turn it on, dont start it, step on brake and move the shifter down into 1st gear, now you should be able to remove this whole shroud by pulling on the edges gently but firmly you will hear little pops aas you move around the edge from the radio all acros s the driver dash. now with that out of the way, remove the 2 socket head screws holding the radio bracket(1 on each side of radio). then pull radio out removing the power connector and antenna connector. there you go, install in the reverse order to finish the interior.

My son was going to change the radio out and he cut all the wires and now the windows wont work and the trunk or the gas thing either i would like to find a wiring plan that would show how to put the stuff...

what you can do is go to a junkyard cut the clip out of the same car and wire it back together. when you install a radio you are supposed to buy a wire harness that plugs into the one he cut and wire the harness to the radio and plug it in. check fuse too he could have shorted them when he cut. NEVER cut wires in the dash use the harness its available at most parts stores and usually only 20 bucks

Cigarette lighter doesn't work. Need to know where the fuse is

If the cigarette lighter does not stick when you push the lighter in then this is the step to take. The prongs inside the lighter adapter have been pushed too far out. ( This happens if you plug other electronics like satellite radio or radar detectors) First, you MUST take out the fuse from the fuse box located under in the glove box. Second, look inside the lighter adapter (not the lighter) you will see two prongs that are supposed to be flared a bit inward. Simply get a small flat head screwdriver and pick the prongs outward but not too much. Do test trials with the lighter to ensure the lighter sticks. Plug the fuse back in and your lighter will be good as new. -Pete
