Leak comming from engine block of 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My 92 Jeep Grand Cherokee is leaking out water under the engine. As soon as you put water in the raterator it leaks out the bottom. Its looks like its leaking from the seals of engine block. Is this something we can fix ourselves or will require more heavly lifting, and if so what are the prices ranges auto shops would charge to this?

Yes it is a problem, you can have a waterpump that leaks as the engine runs, when the vehicle warms up coolant expands and goes to the resovoir,as you turn the engine off and the engine cools off the fluid in the resovoir reutns to the engine but here the problem the radiator cap cant do its job when the water pump leaks

1992 jeep grand cherokee high fuel consumption

If the tail smoke is blueish (not dark and sooty) and the engine runs right then it's a leak. Put the car on a clean flat surface, start the engine and look for the leak - start with the fuel tank.

How to change a heater core in a 93 jeep grand cherokee

When I turn my heater on, after my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee has warmed up, there is a dusty, watery smell for a few minutes, then it goes away. Also, it doesn't put out as much heat as I think it should. I don't think the heater core has a leak, because I always seem to have the same amount of coolant in the radiator and the heater core is not leaking on the inside of the truck.

The original motor in my 93 grand cherokee 5.2L seized in June. I bought a good junk yard 5.2L motor from a 98 Grand Cherokee and swapped over the 93 intake and all related electronics. The engine is back...

are you sure those intakes are inter changeable?
if you still have the 98 intake and your 93 block ,sit there and look for any differences in holes or hole locations.
another way to check is when it is running remove the oil fill cap and see if it stalls or picks up speed.

My 1996 jeep grand cherokee smell anifreez incar here water going back and worth but se no leak but have to re fill water once a weak.cant find leak under dash . but here water go back and forth wile...

the water sound i believe is from being low in antifreeze..if you are adding water oncce a week then there is a leak.. try looking on the inside of the car on the passenger side carpet to see if its wet..if not, then check things under the hood such as, heater hoses for heater core, water pump, thermostat housing, radiator, core plugs, block heater..if the smell is coming from the inside and there is a film on the window, then chances are you need a heater core....try that.

Grand cherokee using water . Fitted new gasket but not cured.Using 1 pint every 100 miles

A leak that small is going to be difficult to find. It may help to dye check the system (shops add dye to coolant and inspect everything with a black-light) You can carefully check all hose connections, heater control valve, under the water pump, head to block parting lines and radiator tank seams. Also check the interior rug on the passenger side for dampness and make sure that the radiator cap has a good pliable gasket. Placing a clean cardboard sheet under the engine overnight will give you a clue where to look. Sometimes a small leak will show up as a greenish or white stain. As I said, if you can't find it, have it dye checked!
