Question about 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

1 Answer

Have 99 extended cab silverado Z71 and the drivers seat broke. I went and bought a drivers seat from a 2000 reagular cab silverado and the wiring on the seats are different. Is there a way to make this work in truck?

Wiring problems

Yes, but if you don't have a really good diagram for both, you will need to identify each function by trial & error, then remove wires in harness and put them in the right places in the harness plug Use original plug from old seat on new seat.Don't change anything in body harness.

Power window on my 2000 chevy silverado z71 won't go up

I also had the same problem on my 2000 Silverado 1500 Z71....on both doors!!! I found the best solution (even though I didn't have the money) was to get it fixed by a good mechanic who wouldn't screw up anything else in the process. Passenger side went first...then a year later, drivers side fell half way down. He researched the solution on his own...found out you have to buy the whole window motor assembly. After labor....300 bucks each window...OUCH!!! Bought my truck new in 2000. Window problem happened in 2006 then in 2007.
