Is this an Accord EX? The canister is an oil cooler; there is a seal between it and the block. The cooler is attached with a single large bolt in the center that also has the threads on which the filter is installed.

I got 2013 Holden captiva Diesel. Can't find the oil filter location. Can you please help me Thanks

It's a cartridge type filter that sits inside a vertical canister attached to an oil cooler that has (2) hoses coming out of it at the rear of the engine block behind the timing belt cover on the drivers side of the engine bay

97 vw golf 1.8 there is a squar box where oil filter fastens to. oil is leaking from top of this box. what is this box and how i fix the leak?

The box is the oil cooler. The oil is most likely leaking from the oil cooler seal. The oil cooler is the square aluminum piece that the oil filter screws onto. To replace the seal, remove the filter, remove both coolant hoses that attach to the cooler, remove the nut that secures the cooler to the block and slide the cooler off the tube. Replace the rubber o-ring seal which is available at the VW dealer. It's inexpensive. Replace everything in reverse order. Good luck

Oil leak from engine filter

The problem here is the switch inside the oil filter housing, or one of the lines attached to the bottom inboard side of the housing is clogged (oil return line). I just had this repaired. The oil could not return to the motor freely, so pressure was building up in the filter canister and leaking from the cover. The switch is called the oil pressure regulator switch, I believe. The filter depresses a little button at the bottom of the filter chamber. My oil filter was damaged apparently by the use of non-synthetic oil by the previous owner. Please have this addressed as this can lead to engine damage due to oil starvation.

Oil leak

If it's leaking from the oil filter spacer.( the 2 inch metal ring that attaches to your block, and has two rubber hoses coming out of it, and your oil filter attaches to) There is an o-ring between the spacer and the block. Take off your oil filter, remove the oil filter stud with 1 3/16" socket( or metric equivalent) and the spacer will come off. I found all the auto parts stores around me said that the o-ring was a dealer item. I bought a FRAM PH3387A oil filter and removed the o-ring on that. It fit perfectly, snug down your oil filter stud to specs, then install your oil filter. Double check that the oil filter is not double gasketed, and your are fixed!

Honda accord 1992 I have a oil leak around the oil filter is it

is it an ex?
is it a bad leak?
it could be 2 things
1) oil pressure sending unit above the filter
2) "o" ring between the oil cooler and block on ex models only. the oil cooler is between the filter and block with 2 coolant hoses attached to it. also might be the oil filter. i replace alot of sending units and oil cooler o rings.
