Can a diagnostic connector on 1995 Toyota 4 runner be jumped over with jumper wire to get check engine codes?

There is probably a way to access codes by using a jumper and causing the engine checklight or an integral led to flash in groups. I can't say which pin or pins need jumping.

I suggest you ask the question of google and click on the youtube video.

How to fix check engine light 90 skylark 2.5 engine ?

If u know of someone who has an old scanner u can easily access the codes. Otherwise u need to jump pins a and b in the doc together with the ignition.on but the motor not running. The check engine light will flash codes. Long flashes are r tens and fast flashes r ones. It will start with 12. One long and then 2 fast. This will sequence 3 times and then go on to more codes. Once u have the codes u can look them up to get to the correct failure area. U may still need a pro to diagnosis it further but u will have a clue to the affected failure. Fyi the 12 is just a distributor code that will show up
since the engine is not running. This is a normal code and should be ignored.

Fuses at side of dash near drivers door . Check all with test light , ignition on. Also you can jump the A&B terminal where you plug your tester and turn on ignition. your check eng. light should flash 1 and 12 three times then count the flashes to determine the code

When using a jumper wire to retrieve ABS trouble codes on a 2002 Trooper 4 wheel drive how is the DLC numbered? I mean which pins do I jump? And when I do jump, Will the ABS light flash te codes....

ok, there are 16 pins in the DLC you want to jump #4 and #12 as you look at the connector from left to right top row is 1-8 bottom row from left to right 9-16, both rows the 4th pin jump them together. then count the flashes all codes are 2 diget ( example flash-flash pause flash-flash = code 22 )

Pulling check engine codes on 1984 el camino

Locate your aldl connector under dash near steering column. It should have 12 pin connector. Older cars had 8 pin connector. You can do either one. On 12 pin connector jump the last 2 pins, on top row, in connector with paperclip or wire. Turn on ignition till check engine light turns on. Count & write down how many times it flashes. It will flash for example 3 times stop then 1 time = 31 code. In older 8 pin connector jump the 2nd & 4th pins on top.

I can't find obd plug on my honda accord 1994 LX .The check light is on.

it will be behind the plastic kick panel on the passenger side (I think, also could be driver side)down by the front passenger floor area, in front of the door hinges. there will be a blue 2-pin connector that is not plugged into anything. jump the two pins with a paperclip, and, turn the ignition on without starting, and the check light will flash the codes (long flash=value of 10)
(short flash=value of 1)
eg: 3 long flashes, followed by 5 short flashes = code 35.

What pins on the diagnostic connector do i bridge?

your owners manual usually tells you which pins to jump to get the code. you could also just take your car to checker or auto zone (or any of those places for that matter.) they usually offer free engine scans.and some even tell you what the possible problem is.
