Hand break light coming on with out using hand break

The cable tightness is loose therefore causing the light to come on while driving, tighten or replace the eb cable hope that helps or you need to push in the button on it hold the button and pull it back as far as you can. let go then push button pull back farther and release, this should tighten the tension.

I changed my abs and i still have a vibration when i push the break no lights come on and its only when i am pushing the break

Warped front rotors from over using the brakes, heat from hard braking.........replace the front rotors with new ones and re-try. Might as well do the pads too as you are right there.

What causes the break light swich to push, ive took apart the swich and can push it and break lights worked but when i put swich back on with clip it dose not work when i hit the break peddel

nothing, It doesn't work like that, when your brake switch is mounted , correctly , your pedal has a bracket on it that pushes the switch plunger in so brake lights are off. when you push brake pedal in, to stop vehicle, the switch plunger (spring loaded) comes out to turn brake lights ON ! get it ? when you release pedal it pushes plunger in, to turn lights OFF !

93 Lincoln Town Car. I have to press extremely ******* brake to get car out of park, so hard I am afraid I am going to break something. Is this a solenoid or whatever. I am a woman so my knowledge of cars...

Have some one help you, start the car and have some one stannd behind it and watch the brake lights.
step on the brake normally and see if the brake lights come on, if they do then see if it comes out of park, the most common problem is the brake light switch fails and it does not release shifter. if you step on the brake and the brake lights do not light up then switch is bad , then step on brake hard and see if lights come on if so then again brake switch is bad, the brake light switch when brake pedal is pushed sends power to brake lights and then sends power to shifter release to unlock shifter. good day.

My axel bearing was replaced last week now my emergency parking break light will not go off and my breaks are hard as a rock i can push and push very hard and the pedal barly moves and the kia barely slows...

I suspect your problem has nothing to do with the rear bearings, it sound most likely that your vacume pipe to your booster is off or maybe sucking air, near the bottle where you top up the brake fluid there is a big black/gold round thing (Booster) up against the car out of this there is a pipe usually about as thick as your thumb that goes to the intake manifold. You should be able to see where it belongs to go if it has come off.

At the top of the brake pedal, there are 2 small hard plastic fittings that fit into 2 holes. When those plastic fittings get old, they get brittle and break and then fall out. Those plastic fittings are what push against the brake light sensor. So when they fall out, there is nothing that "trips" the brake light sensor. They cost 10 bucks at nissan. Try that first. Bet that does it. It did for me !!

The upper break light comes on only when you push the break padde all the way and very hard, the lower break does not work at all

Sounds like you have a bad/defective brake light switch. When you apply brakes, the brake applies pressure to a switch like what is on your dryer or refrig. When it is pressed it turns on the brake lights. It is most likely defective mainly on the bottom lights and getting close to going completely out since your top still works. The mechanism inside the switch has broke or brken contact wires.

I HAVE A 1998 dodge ram 318 1500 two wheel drive the abs and brake light come on but it brakes fine when the brake light and abs light go out i have to really push the pedal down to stop the petal feels...

you need to check the break fluid level now
i do think it is too late tho
what it sounds like is air in your break system
you need to bleed the breaks not doing so can damage the break booster
you need to add fluid to the booster now as it will help and may not need bleeding
if you keep driving the way it is you may loose your breaks all together which is a danger to you and others
you need to have this attended asap it is not a hard job or expensive job
when you put fluid in the car pump the breaks every time you need to or they get soft this forces the fluid through the pips altho the air may have no where to escape which is why we bleed them to let the air out
hope this helps

The brake lights stay on. When I remove the fuse they turn off. What can I do to fix the problem?

I had the same problem. In my case it was not the brake pedal switch contact which I replaced anyways as it is very inexpensive on Autozone. Your brake pedal makes contact with this switch with a round little plastic piece and when this piece breaks after many years of use, the hole left on the break pedal does not push the contact switch thus your brake lights stay on. Go to a Nissan dealer PARTS and tell them your problem. The solution is less than $2 and even though is a little hard to fix, you will be happy when you are done.

Hint: Push the brake pedal as you are installing this little plastic thingie.
