If you've got the same 3.0 L V6 that my 98 has, it's called a dummy plug. I found out form a local dealer that it's there because this engine was used in the 929 too. In the 929, that is the location of the distributor. So Mazda put that plug in to cover the hole in the head. I've also got a leak here. After changing the valve cover gaskets and that not fixing my problem, I suspected this cover. I had a hard time getting it out too. Mine broke while trying to remove it. A call to the dealer and I found I can order it and the O ring that goes on it for $40. (Mine was missing the 0 Ring). I suspect this will fix my problem. P.S. if you do break the cover taking it out, make sure to get all the peices out of the engine before you start it. The Oil Galley for the Head is right below that cover and any parts left in there will circulate with the oil through the engine, possibly causing damage.

SOURCE: Cant find pcv vale please help ware is it

PCV Valve is in the end of 1/2" or so size hose inserted into a rubber grommet in the top of one of the valve covers. I believe it's on the passenger side closest to the firewall.
If you have the 24 Valve engine, the PCV valve is on the drivers side of the engine compartment, if you're facing the front of the vehicle, just under the air intake hose. Its not directly on the engine but rather in line with the oil separator tube/hose. Follow the black accordion tube from the air cleaner to the throttle body valve. Place your hand on the bottom of the throttle body and you will find the PCV attached to two short rubber hoses. Hand access is limited, so you have to feel for the PCV and blindly remove the hoses from the PCV. Be patient, and allow time to finesse the new PCV onto both hoses.
I recommend purchasing this molded new hose for a few dollars from your Ford dealer. They tend to clog or collapse after several years. The whole process can be done in 15 to 30 minutes and save you a lot.

Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted

97 expedition 5.4 doesnt idle very good

Surging idle is usually caused by vacuum leaks. Ford 5.4L engines are notorious for the PCV hose elbow leaking back behind the throttle body.

The PCV tube goes from the right (passenger) side valve cover and loops around behind the valve body. Inspect this hose on BOTH ends.

I have a 97 mazda mpv and need to find the pvc valve on the engine?

PVC Valves do not need to be replaced
Never have

99% of them, have been on the valve cover
for at least 40 years

Unless you have a pcv vacuum hose leak
they do nothing, as far a your engine goes

They are there to regulate crankcase fume
evacuation

Need to start studying & stop listening
to all the hype, including repair shops that
sell these things for no reason.

Where is the PCV valve located on a 2001 VW Beetle Turbo, 1.8L?

All these answers are WRONG!!! The PCV valve isn't located anywhere near the valve cover but underneath the Intake manifold behind the secondary air pump. The PCV hose starts just to the right of the base of the Oil dipstick tube and leads to the right (driver side) to a rubber T. The PCV valve is actually inside this T. You have to unscrew the clamps and carefully pull out the old Plastic PCV insert/valve and replace it with a new one. Most of the time you will also have to replace the hoses since they will be full of sludge/crud and may have gotten brittle from the heat of the 1.8 engine. It is very difficult to access the PCV valve on the 1.8 engine and unless you have doublejointed hands you may need to remove the intake manifold to get to it. But some have done it without removing the intake manifold. Here is a link to some pictures of the location of the PCV valve which in case is an insert residing in that rubber T. http://newbeetle.org/forums/1-8-liter-turbo/45626-pcv-valve-location-2000-beetle-1-8t.html

Oil leak at the rear of the valve cover on the right side does not appear to be the valve cover gasket. another issue is the check engine light and the code is 743 and the o/d off light is blinking.

This isn't a solution, but I have a similar oil leak. I can see clearly with the help of a telescopic mirror that the leak is emanating from the port where the PCV valve hose goes into the cylinder head.

Where is the Pvc valve on a 1997 nissan xe pickup?

1997 Nissan pickup its just above the oil filter, lower right of engine, access through right front wheelwell after removing wheel, it's a screw to be removed. -------------------- The pcv valve on the 2.4 l engine is located behind the alternator and the engine oil filter. The best way to change it is to go thru the wheel well. Take off the passenger front wheel, lift or remove the rubber splash curtain, remove the oil filter, disconnect the rubber vacuum hose, then use a 19 mm wrench to remove the pcv valve. ----------

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Where can i find pcv valve of 2.5 engine mazda mpv, where is it mounted in the engine

PCV Valves are located on top of the valve cover and allow gas to escape from the blow by of piston gases.
Look for a black plasltic piece that is inserted into the top of the valve cover near the front of the engine with a rubber hose connected to it.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2003 ford ranger

  • The PCV valve can be located in several places. The most common location is in a rubber grommet in the valve cover. It can be installed in the middle of the hose connections, as well as installed directly in the intake manifold.
  • Once the PCV valve is located, make sure all the PCV system hoses are properly connected and that they have no breaks or cracks.
  • Remove the air cleaner and inspect the air and crankcase filters. Crankcase blowby can clog these with oil. Clean or replace such filters.
  • Oil in the air cleaner assembly indicates that the PCV valve or hoses are plugged.
  • Make sure you check these and replace the valve and clean the hoses and air cleaner assembly.
  • When the PCV valve and hose are in satisfactory condition and there is oil in the air cleaner assembly, perform a cylinder compression test to check for worn cylinders and piston rings.

the pcv valve is behind the alternator between the alternator and oil filter. when you remove the oil filter you can see the pcv in the intake manifold. best way to get to it is through the pass side fender under the rubber mud flap thats between the wheel and engine.
