Will the radio play. It could be just the battery. If battery is ok, it could be solenoid on the starter.

Changed battery terminals and now dinging wont stop unless warning light fuse removed

It sounds like it thinks the key is still in it all the time. Try turning the key forward to the on position, but not running, so the dinging stops. disconnect the battery. Remove the key completely and reconnect the battery.

I have a 99 Durango that won't start and it also makes a clicking noise jnstead of the bell. it has a new starter, battery and computer. could it be my positive battery cable. it also will not st

Hi Chris, I'm glad to help!

Chris it sounds like you are getting power to the starter when you say it clicks. Here's what you need to do! Take a breaker bar and socket put it on the crankshaft bolt and try to turn the engine over by hand. If you can not move it then take the serpentine belt off and try to turn it over by hand. If you can move it that means something is locked up. Try turning each pulley by hand until you find what is locked up and replace that part. NOTE: If after removing the serpentine belt you still can not move it then your engine is locked up and will need to be replaced or repaired if possible. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Chris.

Battery is fully charged lights come on but power to dash and turning the key wont turn the engine over. not clicks no sound car intidacator lights come on along with the ding ding when the door is open....

Probably your security system or the safety interlock. If the security light is not on, try giggling the shifter or starting in neutral.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

99 durango no power

That clicking sound is most likely a relay. You can test the relay with a multimeter or ohm meter to see if it is defective. Hope this helped.
