Question about 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer Ext

Interior lights and warning dings go on with no error sign

My 2005 TB recently began to ding as though a door was open and the interior lights turn on whenever I go over rail road tracks, big bumps, or start up fast. The noise adn lights go away almost instantaneously and there is no warning sign in my dashboard, no check engine light or anything. All of my doors are closed, and I have opened and closed them and then proceeded to drive, and the sound and lights will still go back on. Do you have any idea what is going on? Could have something to do with the cold, or the fact that I didn't drive it for a week?

Sound like the door that gets used the most often has a bad door switch??? Check the switch on the driver door and all doors. It might be broken, are not making good contact with the door to hold the switch made, or pushing the button in properally.

Changed battery terminals and now dinging wont stop unless warning light fuse removed

It sounds like it thinks the key is still in it all the time. Try turning the key forward to the on position, but not running, so the dinging stops. disconnect the battery. Remove the key completely and reconnect the battery.

We have tried everything to stop the dinging in our 2005 Saturn Relay how can we stop it?

You mean the door ajar alarm ?
You could probably pull the fuse for the interior lights to make it stop.
Chances are one of the door sensors has failed.
The PSD fuse is for the power sliding doors.

Where is the fuse box on my 1997 ford windstar lx?

If you remove the interior light fuse just to turn it off and to turn off the dinging noise then for sure this will drive you nuts, That fuse is part of the shift interlock, what this mean you wont be able to get the car out of park. That interior light and ding is part of the GEM module so you have to fix the problem,in the driver door panel part of the door lock assemble is the switch, either you disconnect that switch or you replace the switch.

My door chime does not ding when the key is in the ignition and the door is open

Do the interior lights come on when door is open? If not, you need to check driver's door jamb switch. The driver's door control module could also be the problem. If the interior light do come on, then I would suspect the ignition switch.
You haven't changed out the radio recently? All chimes go thru the radio.

How do I turn off the interior light and keep the back hatch open? We love going to the drive ends but the inside lighte wont turn off...

I do this almost daily, while working on or cleaning cars. Open drivers door, put key in ignition so that the chimes are dinging. Now, look at the latch on the open door, you can see a "U" shaped latch arm, using a screwdriver, pretend its the striker on the post, and push the latch arm back until it clicks twice. The dinging should stop, and the interior light will go off, just as if the door was closed. Now, if the latch on the rear hatch is similar, you should be able to "trick" it the same way.

Before you attempt to close the door(s) or the hatch, pull the handle as if you were opening it. The latch should pop back to it's "open" position. If not use the screwdriver to pull on it while pulling the handle. Do let me know if your now "IN THE DARK"!!

My 95 Ford Windstar has just developed a rather distressing problem. In the morning, I get in my van and everything is fine. A few hours later, when I get in my van and start it, there is a warning bell...

one of the door ajar switches are sticking. needs to be put on the computer to find out which one. only other way is to go around and unplug the switches until your light shuts off.

Door ajar and interior lights won't go off!

open the door and there will be a small piece of plastic that can be pushed into and out of the door jamb. You will need to replace that because it is not telling the computer the door is shut.
