This job is not bad to do, in the engine compartment at the rear on the pass/side you will see the blower motor, you may have to remove the washer bottle and the coolant resivor to allow enough remove for the motor to come out.hope this helps.

there are four nuts that you must remove at the front of the pulley between the fan. remove fan, fan shroud, loosen accessory belts. remove water pump pulley and the pump bolts will be exposed. check belts for replacement while you have them loose. reverse procedure to install.

The fan won't work in the gmc jimmy could it be a fuse

Which fan are you talking about. The heater fan (blower motor) has a relay the could have gone bad. The cooling fan in you engine has a fuse I believe that could have also gone bad. If you are talking about the cooling fan then try and trace the wires from the fan and make sure they didn't get unplugged or cut.

How does a resistor look like on a 2001 gmc jimmy

The blower resister on this model is mounted with two screws very near the blower motor. When it is unmounted, and pulled out of the blower box,it looks like a heat sink/plastic/alluminum .This part is cooled by the blower motor, and supplies the speeds for the fan that you select with the fan speed switch. If I caan help, let me know.>>
