Slow start due to fuel pump not holding pressure. Fuel pump has been replaced twice and still have the same problem.

Changed #3 fuel injector (per computer), crank shaft position sensor, cam shaft position sensor, smoke test shows no leaks, pressure test was fine.

The fuel pump has to prime everytime the truck has been turned off for more than 5 mins.It takes about 25-30 seconds of the truck trying to turn over before it starts. Two mechanics have hooked it up to a fuel pressure gauge. You can watch the fuel pressure drop really fast when the truck is turned off.

SOURCE: Fuel pump will not run, 96 Neon 2.0 SOHC

Personally I wouldnt bother tracing the wire as it is probably not worth your time, and just run a constant 12v from the battery to the relay on like 10ga wire. There is probably a short somewhere in the system which can be a real headache to find.

Also it may sound dumb, but check your fuses, and the fusible links under the hood. Chances are that they are all fine though, especially if you have dash lights.

SOURCE: car has no spark or injector pulse(new ecm, crank sensor)

Check the fuse for the injectors, some vehicles have the injectors and coil running on the same circut, at the same time check the fuse for the ignition.

Then i think i'd be dumping some soapy water on the intake gaskets checking for leaks. ANd wiggle the **** out of all vacuum hoses. ( you probably did that) And if there aren't any, your cam could be tired. You got a tough one there. Hard to figure with a keyboard.

Hello,am having problems starting my ford focus early in the morning,l need to turn the key twice to get the car to start the problem also occurs at times when the engine is hot,

I think that the electric fuel pump is bleeding off pressure due to a failed pressure check valve inside the pump outlet. You will need to watch the fuel pressure on a gage, after approx 20 minute with the engine turned off it should not loose more than a few PSI, if it does and the gage connection is leak free then you must remove the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump module. The test port for fuel pressure is in the supply rail to the engine fuel injectors, the gage is about $20-$30 US

97 s10 4.3 vortec..flooding when engine is hot. Went from 24 mpg to 13. Changed fuel pressure regulator. egr valve.Plugs, wires, cap and rotor button. Fuel pressure stays between 55 and 61 at all speeds,...

The fact the fuel pressure does not hold after the pump stops is a big problem indicating a fuel leak into the upper manifold, which would cause the flooding. This leak could have several causes, but since the problem is still there after replacing the regulator, it sounds like the problem is with the injector in the spider assembly.
It sounds like you have a design 1 spider assembly, with only one fuel injector distributing fuel to the six poppets. If that is the case, I suggest you try replacing the entire assembly (which will include a new regulator) with the Delco design 2 version which has injectors on each poppet.

I have to pump the throttle several times and then it starts sometimes and sounds like backfireing allthough its feul injected!

'pumping' a fuel injected engine is NOT like the old days (like with a carb)-if you hold the petal to the floor, it shuts off the injectors-NO petal, the injectors pulse (and dump fuel to an engine that is slow to start). If you are having hard starting, chances are good you have a flooding condition-leaking injectors, leaking O-rings, a damaged fuel pressure regulator could all be re3asons for your hard starting (and backfiring from a flooded engine). You should try to HOLD the petal to the floor and see if that helps-if it does, you should get the fuel regulator checked, replace the injector o-rings, check fuel pressure and might even need to consider replacing injectors themselves (or having them cleaned).

I have a 1995 Mercedes-Benz S320. I turn the key to start car it starts then dies. Try to start it again but won't start. Battery is fine. What are the possible problems?

It dies after start since not having fuel. There are several factors needed to be checked:
1-Fuel injectors got clogged up or injector module control is having a problem.
2- Not having correct fuel pressure due to fuel filter gets clogged up.
3- Fuel pump is weak not delivering correct rate per spec.

Slow staring

Yes, fuel delivery problem. Your fuel pump may be going bad, or you have a leak in the system someplace (due to a bad clamp, bad hose, etc.) when the car is off, the fuel pressure drops. Thr first time you crank the motor, the pump is pressurizing the system. The second time, the injectors have enough gas to start the motor. You'll need to find the leak and/or replace the fuel pump.
