2001 old alero turns over will not start

2001 old alero has had timing chain and gears replaced the first time my understanding is the boot or spring was not in place correct by the people who worked on it before we got the car. They had it running and then it stopped so we replaced it all again, also new coils but is still not getting fire. This car has set for a long time but was well maintained previously. We have tried everything, working with a manual and talking to mechanics any suggestion ?

Hello;
Are you getting fuel? When you turn the ignition switch to on , does the pump energize? If not make sure the relay is ok. If you have fuel, make certain the timing is exactly correct. Go back through the steps if you are not sure it is right. Also make sure all your sensors are hooked up and working. Hope this helps. Rate me high, please. I can be requested as well if you need further assistance.
Thanks;

    Hello;

    If your mechanic is certain the timing is exactly correct, I would start at the begining. Bring the #1 cylinder up to TDC and make certain all the timing marks are correct. Then I would make sure the coils are good, the plug wires are good, and clean and dry the spark plugs. I would double check the relays for the fuel system and also check the ecm and ignition fuses.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks;

    Rich

How to replace water pump

On the 2.4 engine you have to pull the timing chain cover off which includes the harmonic balancer loosen the timing chain then once you have done all that you can un-bolt the water pump from the mtor and the timing chain housing and it should slide right out be sure to mark your valve gears and your crnk so you don't loose your timing marks

The water pump is leaking in my 2003 Oldsmobile alero

If your water pump is leaking, then it will have to be replaced. This is not a job for the beginner as you will have to rmove the timing chain cover, harmonic balancer and timing chain. If you tackle this job your self make sure you mark your valve gears, crank and replace the chain exactly the way you removed it or your timing will be off.
