How do i release air from the rear shocks in a 2002 bravada, the car it sitting up very high in the rear and there is no bounce at all when hitting bumps in the road

Try going under the vehicle the sir pump is located in the rear wheel has an activating lever..when the it detects weight the frame makes contact with it and the pump comes on..when the weight is removed the frame releases the lever..sounds like it may be stuck in the heavy weight position..try moving it by hand..if it moves but does not release the air the activator is bad..and needs checked...don't suggest disconnecting the will ride way to low and effect the ride control.. Good luck

Back end sits very low

I bought an '02 Bravada a couple months ago. I was told that this is normal. Since it's an air ride suspension the air escapes when the vehicle is not in use like overnight. Then after starting up the air compressor will turn on and inflate the air ride suspension.

I have an AWD 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada with rear air ride suspension. I was wondering if I could mount rear coil springs in place of the air ride? Would I have to remove anything in order to put in the coil...

I am having the same problem, My compressor stopped working a few weeks ago. There is a conversion kit available. I have found that offers the best advice The kit is about 350 (if you need to replace the shock absorbers) or 225 without the absorbers. The dealer compressor runs for $589.... I found one for 390.

2002 oldsmobile bravada, have a strong gas smell in the air cleaner

Take the air cleaner off and open the throttle (have someone hold the gas pedal to the floor) and look down into the intake manifold, if you see gasoline, the Fuel Pressure Regulator may be leaking sometimes there are plastic fuel lines inside that can leak also. When either of these leak, the engine should run REAL BAD/RICH. Black smoke coming from tail pipe.

ECAS compressor not operating

RElay is most likely your first cause. The second cause is most likely a air leak in your sstem not letting it fill with air completely
