Change cam shaft sensors

Dificult to know what you mean. You didn't ask a question.

Both cam sensors are likely not defective, if their are two. Scan the ECU for codes and you will lliekly learn which on is defective. The sensors will be located close to the assocaite cam gear on each engine bank. You may have to remove a paltcis cover to access the sensor. The sensor will have a two-wire connector receptacle attached and is liekly held in place by a single 10 mm bolt. Easy to change.

I am going through the same problem. My mechanic had to call in 4 techs and none of them could find the problem. He called our local Kia dealership ( where I bought the car brand new) and was told to look inside the engine (labor intensive) and find a plastic gear. If the gear is not engaging properly it affects the timing of the engine so the whole cycle of the engine is off....then it won't start, or it will run and then shut down.Be prepared for a BIG expense. If this is your problem, you will have to get a new (rebuilt) engine. I suggest contacting your local Kia dealer and complaining. I am actually trying to find other Kia owners that are having this problem. To me it sounds like a manufacturing defect and there should be a recall. Good Luck

I can't find the camshaft position sensor. I don't know much about this stuff. I have went to auto zone and advance auto and heard 3 different stories. Came home and tore the car down 3 different places...

The cam shaft position sensor is located right behind the exhaust cam by the fire wall. It is held by two 10 mm bolts, one on each side of the sensor. If you got the hood up and looking at the engine the cam that is on the right hand is the exhaust cam. To get to the CPS you have to remove the intake and cam top cover.

Kia sephia timimg belt replacement

remove drive belts and water pump pulley remove plastic cover and crank pulley line marks on cam with marks on valve cover should be at 12 o clock then there is a notch in crank gear that lines up with *** on the block at about 1 o clock the tensioner is spring loaded 14mm nut loosen this nut use a pry bar to push tensioner back snug nut so pulley wont come back remove belt when installing new belt use paper clibs wit the rods that flip over to hold the belt on the pulleys be sure timing marks on cam are lined up before attaching clips as they will move when belt is removed after belt is installed and tensioner is tight turn engine by hand until cam marks are lined up be sure all marks are lined up if they are reassemble everything and happy motoring
