Car heater blowing cold air and rubber burnning

If your heater is spraying a light mist through your vents it could be your heater coil. Mine did the same thing, smell rubber burning, then started a light mist through the vents. If you don't get that checked out, it could mess up your water pump and possibly your engine

My 2001 jeep grand cherokee has a dark mist/smoke coming out of the vents, and defroster. But, the heater works fine. What could it be?

DO NOT USE STOP LEAK!!!!!! That stuff has no brain so you cant tell it to plug only specific leaks. It will go for the easiest hole to plug which can be a water port in the cooling jacket for the cyl heads. replace the heater core. Fix it right or bypass but please please please do not use anything that will stop a leak

Sounds like your heater core is leaking. Check your carpet on the passenger side floor under your glove compartment.

The heater stopped working, we can sometimes smell antifreeze and today there was like a green mist on the wind shield.

Its now dought you need a new heater core its leaking. Thats why you can smell antifreeze and also where the mist on the windsheild is coming from there must be a wet spot on the floor on the middle to the passangers side aswell good luck

Heating AC problem

It sounds like the heater core is leaking engine coolant into the passengers side compartment. White mist could be steam from the hot coolant? The Heater fan could be damaged, or it is a short. Fill your radiator and take it to the shop or replace the heater core.

I have a 1999 dodge ram with a 460. I have very little heat and there is a mist that comes out of the vents when i turn the heater on. I unhooked the heater hoses and ran water through the core and it ran...

The hoses might have a heater control valve on one ofthem, check and see,an you may have to replace it.Also make sure there is enough coolant in the system,it will not flow threw the heater core if there is not enough coolant in the system, the mist could be the hole in the heater core.

Front windsreen mists up from the top when heaters are on

Get your cooling system pressure tested, and tell the shop you have this fogging problem. They can diagnose this quickly. No voodoo needed here.

Heater coil chevy s-10

Replace the thermostat in the engine coolant system - should be near the water pump or in the top hose to the rad. Mist in the heater vents usually means a corroded heater core, that should be replaced. Be sure to use the correct mix of anti-freeze, to keep the boiling point in the cooling system correct. Many who live in the warmer states, thing that plain water is OK, but it is NOT. Antifreeze contains corrosion inhibitors that protect the engine cooling system.
