Don't insert nozzle in fill hole so deep. It is not getting the air it needs to vent out while your fillinh the tank. Also start off slow on filling the tank, so that the air will start coming out while gas is going into your gas tank. like is said, the tank isnot venting fast enough, to let the gas come into the tank.

New fuel pump won't prime. No fuel from gas tank to engie. Lines are clear.

The pump works without priming anything. If the tank is vented, and you have fuel in the tank, and the pump is installed correctly, it should pump fuel out.
Are you sure the pump is getting power and ground ?

1999 Mazda Protege 1.8L. Power Steering pump is making noise. Is it worth it to get a rebuild kit?

Are you sure its full of fluid? Check the level. Usually a "groaning" noise is caused by low fluid which would also indicate a leak.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2001 Mazda Protege 2.0 LX?

A 2001 Mazda Protege (actually, all models from 1999-2003 including the DX, LX, ES, Mazdaspeed, and Protege 5) does not have an inline fuel filter. The only fuel filter it has is a "strainer" or a "screen", which looks like a nylon mesh "sock". This strainer is connected to the fuel pump, located in the gas tank. Although this fuel strainer does not require periodic replacement, it is recommended that it be changed if you are replacing the fuel pump.

Can't get gas to go in tank, and it will spit out gas

Every gas tank has a vent tube, so when you fill the tank, air can escape, while the fuel is being pumped into the tank. Some vent tubes are metal, some rubber. Yours is either collapsed or plugged up. Look at the fill tube in the firebird and follow it from the gas cap to the tank, there should be a 2nd smaller tube that is your vent tube. Check to see if it's collapsed, pinched, or bent. This is definitely your problem. Check out this web site for pictures of different fill and vent tubes to get an idea of what to look for. Good luck let me know how you make out. Curt

2000 Mazda Protege has problem taking gas in.

Does this happen no matter what gas station you go to? If so then you may want to carefully check inside the the gas fill tube. If there are no obstructions then check the gas fill hose itself for kinks.

2005 mustang, when filling with gas, the pump nozzel shuts off. I can hear the fill pipe gurgle then the pump shuts off. it will only take 15 cents worth of gas at a time. when your trying to put $ 20.00...

Gas Pump pressure could be cause, try slower pump handel setting. If that doesn't correct it, filler neck maybe issue. Check vent tube for kinks or obstruction. If that doesn't solve it, speak with dealer service department, sometimes Factory knows of issue and my have service information at dealerships or call factory and ask them if they know of problem.
