Check fuses right side engine compartmentlower dash panel if all OK check power to ECM located right side "A" pillar in alloy box. this unit could be faulty if no spark at coils, assuming they have been connected correctly. may have to get tested for codes at L/R dealer or someone with test tool. Another source of problem may well be flat battery in transponder key. The indicator light on the dash willflash rapidly for 10 seconds if the vehicle has been unlocked with the remote and the drivers door is opened if the battery in remote is getting low
Hi justin, sounds like you have a headgasket problem are you going through any water? If not you may have a leaking fuel injector or faullty fuel pressure regulator. you either have fuel or water leaking into a cylinder causing it to miss fire on first start up.
Hello, You should install, or have installed, a new set of plugs. It's bad on the engine, emission system, and catalytic converter to have any missfire. It could also cause sensors to trigger the, " check engine ", light, and eat up a ton of gas.
Pull off the hat and lay it up on the wipers. Run plug wires from the coil adapter towers to the plugs. Run a ground wire to ground the hat. Check for spark with a spark tester one wire at a time. Don't get near it when you have a friend crank it, there is enough voltage in the ignition system of a 2.3 quad 4 to kill you. I'm not kidding, just be careful.
check the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors, the common problem with this car is the crank sensor, located on the gearbox, behind the engine, did the home tune carryout a computer diagnostic, if not get one done asap, it will save u money and time.
unlock your car with the key, put the key in the ignition switch, remove one of the battery terminals now switch the ignition to the running position then put the battery terminal back on this will bypass the rovers immobiliser and alarm system
The honda engine in the rover suffered from the amplifier module in the distributor going faulty. Remove dist cap ans rotor arm, underneath you will see a small square box with 5 wires onto it, if i remember, its held in with 2 screws. remove this and replace with new .
