Question about 2001 Toyota RAV4
Driving home at 11 pm when all of a sudden the steering felt sluggish and the red battery light came on. Drove 2 more blocks home and parked in front of my house. Checked the owners manual which says this is the Discharge Warning Light and that my battery is discharging. I'm a single woman with no experience in this field. Can someone please explain to me what has happened and what I will need to do/pay to get this fixed?
Hi how are you it sounds like the altinator or your battery has gone bad and needs to be checked to find out wich one is bad.you will have to use a battery/altinator tester to find the bad part.and for price it is hard to say it depends on the part that is bad. a battery will cost between 60.00-150.00.most autoparts stors will put in for free.the altinator can cost between 100.00-300.00.
