Possible bad ignition switch, go to gm dealer ,tell him you think its in the ignition switch, they have had problems with these, they will replace and reprogram 300-400 range ,in the mean time disconnect battery a touch plus with minus cables this bleeds the capasitors, hold for 30 secs. it should start when you hook back up

My 1999 chevy blazer doesn't even try to start the security (factoryinstalled) blinks constantly. I was told it may be the pass lock system any ideas?

The pass key system isn't working. Make sure your using the same key. There is a piece where a wire brakes in the steering column. Part is cheap but steering wheel needs to be pulled. And dealer needs to reprogram it.

My 2004 mountaineer does not do anything when you try to start the car, lights and radio work. security light blinks rapidly when i try to start, but car does not even try to turn over, any suggestions

Security is set. Lock the car up. open it with the key and turn it on. this usually resets the security. If it doesn't use the key fob while its still on and unlock it.

1997 oldsmobile 88 won't start the security light

Im guessing you tried to bypass the key in the ignition/steering column. This is ok unless the actual problem was in the TDM (theft deterrent module) In this case, the 2 wire bypass does nothing. There is another way to bypass this. Check out this link for tons of info and some DO IT YOURSELF options. Ive done several key bypasses and tons of full bypasses. They both work well, it just depends on what part is failing. I think you need the full bypass to eliminate that TDM.

I drove the car alot that day and then I went to start the car and it wouldn't start. After it had sat for a couple hours. It cranks but will not start.

I have the same problem with mine,I found out lately that this car is designed for anti theft lock so always lock your door when you park even if you're just refueling. try switch it ON wait for 10 minutes until the security lock stops blinking, turn it off then start.

I had my ignition cylinder & housing replaced now my car won't start. How do I reset the passlock system so my car will start

Hello, Try this: Get in car, turn the key to start, when it don't start let key come back to run (do not turn off) The security light should be blinking, let car set for about ten minutes or until security light stays on steady at that time turn key off for 10 seconds then turn back on (do not go to start) security light will be blinking again wait 10 minutes and security light should go out. Turn key off, wait 10 seconds . Turn key on (do not go to start) security light will be blinking again, wait 10 minuets and security light will go out. AT THIS TIME TURN KEY OFF FOR 10 SECONDS THEN START THE CAR.

Car ran fine night before...next morning would not start. Replaced fuel pump, filter and switched relay but still had no luck. What else should we do?

CHECK TO SEE IF SECURITY LIGHT IS STAYING ON WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY TO RUN POSITION(NOT START) NORMAL OPERATION IS SECURITY/ANTI THEFT LIGHT ON FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN SHOULD GO OFF. IF ITS STAYING ON VEHICLE IS IN THEFT MODE WHICH WILL DISABLE THE FUEL INJECTORS BECAUSE CAR THINKS ITS GETTING STOLEN. MOST LIKELY CAUSE FOR THIS IS PASSLOCK SYSTEM(SENSOR IS LOCATED IN STEERING COLUMN)

2000 Alero Security light flashing and wont start

With the new lock cylinder in it, turn the key on. The security light should blink. Leave the key on for 10 minutes, the security light will quit blinking and go out after 10 min. This will reprogram your security system and the car should start. Also leave a battery charger on it while the key is on, If the battery goes dead during the 10 minute reprogram sequence, you will have to start over again.

My 1998 Chev Cavalier Theft System light stays on

If the car starts and dies right away you may have a pass key sensor fault.
Try to start the car,if the car dies right away just leave the key on and watch the security light in the insturment panel,if it begins to blink leave the key on until it stops blinking (apx 10 mins.) this will reprogram the pass lock to the pcm and may solve all your problems.if the car continues to die after running a min or so then you may have other faults,or if the car dies right after start the pass lock sensor may need to be replaced.
