Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Our 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited stalls while we drive

We have been dealing with this problem for over a year.....We have taken it to a local mechanic 13 times and 2 times at the dealership. All with no success. It has 120,000 miles on it, the computer (PCM) has been replaced 3 times, fuel pump changed, fuel filter replaced, map sensor replaced, and we are still SO frustrated! It looks great from the outside, but even the Manager of the dealership says that with the age, we would probably get into further probs., and to get a new car. Of course he would say that! Did not solve the problem! Even got Jeep Headquarters involved, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. We are about to trade it, but would like try to get input from anyone who knows Jeeps and has had this problem one more time! We cannot be the only ones! Help! Thanks.

The car stalls while you are driving it. Sometimes it starts up and other times leaves us stranded. Obviously, unreliable!

Does the vehicle die and not start back up until it coold down? if so, I had the same prob on my 94. I replaced the crank shaft position sensor and it cured the prob completely

Can anyone tell me the best way to remove the running boards from a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited? Thanks.

Are they damaged? If you are replacing them...look at the new part for the mounting bolt locations...Also, you could visit your local salvage yard...(oic a part) and practice or examine a salvage Grand Cherokee. They have been big sellers and should be plentiful. Hope this helps.

2008 jeep grand cherokee stalls while driving 4.7 v8

The 2001 Grand Cherokee limited 4.7 does the quarter mile in 15.563 seconds. The 2008 v6 Mustang does the quarter mile in 15.378 seconds. It is possible but unlikely. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1996 Jeep GC stalling with no warning when driving

my 96 grand cherokee had the same problem with stalling minus the clock reseting part. what fixed mine was an idle air control motor it sits at the back of the throttle body on top of the motor. the part cost about 60 bucks and it hasn't stalled out on me since. i hope this helps you out.
