Break Light Bulb Replacement: 1992 Chevy Cavalier 2 door

I know this is probably the most simple thing to do, but I obviously lack this skill.

I looked in my Chiltons book on bulb replacement for the break lights, but I just couldn't see what they were talking about.

I just need to know how to get the bulb out so I can replace it.

The Bulb housing and everthing is on the trunk. There are two wing nuts on the inside of the trunk that should release the housing, but do not.

I am trying to remember for sure but I believe the 2 Plastic wing nuts just release part of the lens and your covering. You need to pull back the cover in the trunk just a bit more and you should see 2 more Plastic wing nuts to release the rest of the housing.

Back Up light bulb replacement

Sounds like you have Torx head screws. You should be able to buy an inexpensive torx screw driver set to take care of the access problem.

Break light bulb replacement

The brake light bulb is accessed from inside the trunk. There are 2 plastic wing nuts that release part of it. Then you pull back the covering just a bit and there are 2 more. That should release the entire Light housing. A small turn and the bulb holder removes from housing. Hope this helps and have a good day.

Light bulb number 1992 Tracer

The bulb number is A12V10W (12 Volts, 10 Watts). The easiest thing to do is to visit an automotive parts store as they usually have a bulb replacement manual which will list most of the bulbs based on the make, model, and year of your vehicle. The other alternative is to visit the link below and input the aforementioned data (I am not sure if the number that you will find on the website will be universal or only a Sylvania part number) http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/LampReplacementGuide/
