How do I remove the driver side door panel on a 1986 pontiac parisienne broughham

You need special tools to remove the door panel without permanently damaging the panel. you can get them at any auto parts store. The armrest has screws that have to be removed. Pull up on the panel with all the buttons on it while prying on it with a flat blade screw driver. You'll find more screws to take out there. Now for the special tools. Use them to locate and to pry up on the door panel. the tool releases the metal or plastic fasteners without ruining the door panel.

How can I disassemble the driver's door to repair the power window without breaking it?

You have a major problem. Either the window regulator or the clips that hold the window on broke. My guess is the regulator because of the cable. To disassemble the door look for the screws holding the inner panel on remove them don't forget the one in the door pull and behind door handle. Carefully pry panel off remember there is some clips holding the panel on. Disconnect any wiring connection and carefully lift panel up towards top of door do not force. You will see a cover of some sort remove it. You are in door and should be able to see the problem

What is proper way to take off drivers side door panel without breaking any of the clips so i can replace the window switch

Remove the screws at the door handle arm rest and maybe some on the bottom or sides. Look around it. Panels come of 2 ways . they lift up ( try this first) or you have to pull it off. When you pull it off start at the bottom, and work your way around both sides. When they pull off you will be lucky if none break. I have done a lot of them and almost always have to replace some of them.

How do you take the drivers door apart to repair the power window lift? We are uncertain on how to take the door apart to get to the window motor without breaking it.

There are two screws in the arm rest. And the rest of the door panel is held on by plastic clips on the back side. Start at the bottom of the door panel and pull out. The door panel will feel like it is going to break but the clips will break way before the door panel. Every door panel that I have taken off I have broken at least one of the clips. You can get the new clips at Autozone. But make sure that you take a broken one with you. Because they have a bunch of different sizes. When you get to the top of the door you will have to lift up to get it all the way off. Then you will have to unplug the wiring for power windows, locks, and mirrors.

Do i have to remove the door panel to take off door speaker covers? Speaker covers are starting to rust and want to remove all 4 speaker covers on door just to paint them. Trying to remopve without...

I believe that your speaker covers are clipped in through the back of the panel and won't come out through the front without breaking some of the clips. The proper way would be to remove the door panels and remove the covers out the back of the panel.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can remove the panel

Driver side door lock is jammed. I want to replace ,it seams i cant get lock out of door .lock is pressed in.Do you know of a way to get iot out

If you can open the door, then on the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge.

If you can't open the door, you'll have to try to work a jimmy bar into the door via the window well and hope you can snag the lock mechanism without breaking it.....

you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. Then pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything.
