Question about 2003 Lincoln Navigator

Strange water sound......

When the radio is off and it is very quiet. It sounds like water is splashing around if I listen closely near the dash board. My first thought was Thermostat was bad but the car seems to warm up ok in warm and in cold weather. I am puzzled at this as I do not recall it happening the first few years that we had the vehicle. We have a 2001 Nav with about 67k mileage... Any suggestions?

Your evaporator drain tube is probably stopped up what you need to do is use compressed air to blow up the drain tube becareful because in humid climates the evaporator sweats alot and there can be alot of water in the evaporator case and it will come rushing out when the compressed air removes the blockage

No sound on AM/FM but Sirius is fine

I would look at the antenna connections ... you will need to remove the unit from the dash to get to the back of the radio. [Google removal of that specific radio for your vehicle]. You may be able to get your hand up under some dash boards to reach the back of radio?

The antenna conception is typically a round coax conductor that goes to a plug into the back of the radio.

Try moving the plug around while radio is on ... if you get signal pull out connector and clean contacts with rubbing alcohol. Test again and reinstall.

Hope this helps!

How to repair a/c problem there is no air coming out of vents.I can hear it running also feels cold on passenger side floor. What to check next?

Just fixed a similar problem on my 02 S10 pickup. In my case it was the vaccum switch that selects where the air comes out. Listen closely and see if you hear a hissing sound around that switch. Turn the radio and stuff off and do it in a quiet area. NOTE: Mine is an S series truck. I'm not sure if the Silverado uses the same system. It is the same year though. I just did a youtube search and it looks like the Silverado uses electric motors rather than vacuum.

Car has a clanking sound in park while running coming from under car on drivers side close to dash area. Vibrates and makes sound until the car reaches around 30mph and then quiets down.Runs just a little...

Sounds like catalytic converter inner material broken up inside casing. To verify, with vehicle thoroughly cooled down , raise vehicle high enough to get underneath, use jack stands for safety, and fist pound converter and listen for similar rattle.

Where is the turn signal relay on an escort 1992

you have a fuse box under the dash and a fuse/relay box under the hood.
Althou many cars will place the flasher/blinker relay under the dash near the brake pedal, and still, some are behind the radio (farther back and close to the floor)
here is the relay you are looking for.

You can turn on the hazard flashers and listen for the ticking sound the flasher makes. Follow the sound and look for a small round or square piece. (the flasher)
You should have one for blinkers and one for hazards.
This flasher is most often the problem.
Relay may be in the area if not under hood.

Where is the drain line for the air conditioner for a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue?

Sounds like a classic example.
The drain hose or tube should be near the bottom of the firewall where it meets the floor on the passenger side.

do you hear a clickung sound everytime you step on the brake pedal?? get into the truck and be very quiet. turn on the key so the dash lights up and turn off all accessories such as radio and heat so its totally quiet in the truck hit the brake pedal and listen for clicking sound coming from shifter area. if no sound is heard at all than your solenoid to release the shifter from park is not working. start with doing the test and post results.

I would have a close look at the fuel pump. These are one of the weaker links in the vehicle.Key On -Engine off will run this intank electric pump for 3 seconds. This gives you an opportunity to listen for the pump and how it sounds overall(in a quiet place ,like a closed garage)...Sometimes a failing pump sounds a bit squeelish and loud, somewhat labored.A good working ,fresh pump sounds very smooth and quiet.Fuel pressure diagnostics might be in order as these pumps seem to work about like they sound....good luck

Runs rough and stalls

I would further suspect fuel delivery issues primarily the pump. This is an intank mounted pump and they are a very fast moving parts across counters everywhere. This means they go out alot. The only thing she can do as a driver is to listen to that pump run. In a quiet place like a closed garage, turning key on -engine off (no cranking) will run that pump for 3 seconds. I've noticed they generally work about as good as they sound.A new, good pump sounds very quiet and smooth sounding as a failing pump sounds a bit squeelish, loud and labored. These however are somewhat suttle sounds you are listening for taking in consideration your listening to a pump motor inside a fuel tank submerged in gas.Next step is installing fuel pressure gauge and running diagnostic for verification.

Dual Temp on 2000 Dodge Caravan

Sounds like a "mode" door issue. Either the door is broken or the motor that operates it is faulty. There are very few wiring issues with these motors, so I'd guess the door motor. Unfortunatly, the door is located inside the heaterbox and is not accessable without dash and heaterbox removal. This is a job for a qualified technician as the a/c system must be drained first. If the problem is a motor, then some are accessable by removing the panels aound the heaterbox. Listen for the door movements while operating in a quiet setting. You should be able to hear the door move if the motor is operating. Listen close, it's quiet.
Hope this helps, let me know if I can do more.
